Went the distance

Niko was extremely cooperative and helpful staying in constant touch with both my parents and I to let us know exactly what documents we needed to get to where in order to allow me to continue to onto my trip overseas. With my summer job I was rarely in constant contact but he did his best to ensure everything was in order! Thanks Niko!
Would recommend this service to any of my friends looking to travel and teach abroad, everything was great!

A very pleasant experience!

I could not be happier about my experience with Travel and Teach Recruiting. Shane Bennet was extremely friendly and professional, and made the entire job search process a very pleasant experience. From the moment Shane got in touch with me, communication was very clear and straight forward. Shane walked me through the entire job search process, my contract, the visa process, insurance, a guide to teaching as well as what to expect once I arrived in Korea. My school is very supportive, and makes learning the English language a very fun and rewarding experience. I am very happy with my job placement in Korea, and I look forward to a wonderful year filled with travel and adventure!

Great Experience

Korea is a great place to live and work, I was hesitant at first to apply to teach as it seemed like a big step and I read lots of mixed experiences of other people online, but the recruiter (travel and teach) helped me through everything and got me placed in a lovely school. Any questions or worries I had were quickly answered and really put me at ease.

Even though it seems like a big step to travel around the world to live and teach for a year, its not as scary as it seems and there's always people available to help you!

Thank you

So ever since I looked into teaching in South Korea, this website where where I looked for not only assistance but also for guidance in what my next steps should be. They were very organized in telling me exactly what I needed to do and when I needed to have everything completed by. Travel and teach also gave me many opportunities to find a placement, even after I myself had lost hope, Shane, my coordinator, helped me and pushed me to keep trying. Shane reminded me of my dream to move to South Korea and pursue a teaching career. Being here now is so surreal and I couldn't be happier.

What would you improve about this program?
Make it more well known and advertised! I had to search for a long time to find travel and teach but when I did I found that the program itself was really well organized and helpful. If this were more advertised I'm sure many more people would be interested in doing what I'm doing now! Thank you.

Seoul Teaching Position

I had spoken with many different recruiters leading up to finding Niko at Travel and Teach and had been unhappy with all of them until I began speaking with Niko. He was helpful, had quick and accurate information and did not make the process stressful at all. He was clearly experienced and constantly available when I needed anything. I could not have been happier with working with Niko and would suggest this company to anyone interested in teaching abroad!

A hidden gem

When I finally decided to work and travel abroad, I had no idea where to begin. What country do I go to? How do I get a visa? and that dreaded question.. How do I find a decent job that I wont hate? Thankfully i discovered this site from a friends recommendation. I was skeptical at first because this service was free and guaranteed job placement. However, I was proven wrong when just that happened. Not only did my recruiter hold my hand (figuratively speaking of course) throughout the entire process, but he was there to answer all of my questions(no matter how small or trivial they were). This included visa assistance, appropriate resume preparation, job searching, and setting up interviews with employers. Once I was in Korea, he continued to follow up on my cultural and job adjustment to insure a smooth transition. After years of working abroad, this experience has proven to be by far the most convenient, cost friendly, and successful experience to date. I have recommended this site to several friends back home and all the ones that actually pursued this dream, came away successful.

What would you improve about this program?
I have no real recommendations. One thing that worried me at the time is a recruiter not instantly responding back to my ridiculous questions. However, I realize now that these needs were a little over the top and that the problem was probably more me than my recruiter.

Paul's review

Up until about a week before I left for here in Korea it didn't quite seem real to me. Like a distant dream that once I got to that point in time it would just be an idea. However Niko was on top of things for me no matter how disillusioned I was. That helped me make the trip even better especially working with me when it seemed like every flight I took got delayed. I am very thankful for his help.

What would you improve about this program?
The only recommendation I would have is that there was a stretch in the middle where I was looking at some other programs and I hadn't received an email from anyone in travel and teach for awhile. So I considered going with another program. Thankfully though everyone was super quick and nice when I emailed them to make sure I was still in the system.

Great Program

Niko was very helpful in answering any questions that I may have had and responded really quickly. I also ended up at a really good school and the people I work with are great. The only issue that I really had with Travel & Teach, was that I was only given one job description at a time and I would only get a new one if I didn't get an interview with one school or if they decided they wanted someone else. I would have liked to see my different options and would have liked a choice, because I felt that I had to accept the first school that wanted me. I didn't know if there were others or not. Also, I was given jobs that were a lot earlier than I wanted which put me in a very tight space. I tried to reinforce that I couldn't leave no later than a date, but it wasn't taken into consideration very much nor the location I wanted to be.

What would you improve about this program?
It would be better if the program gave multiple options at once for the different schools that are available to interview with and allow the teachers to choose from possibly three or four (if available). Or have the teacher interview with multiple schools before making a final decision. I felt forced to chose the first one that accepted me and was frustrated only being given one school offer at a time instead of knowing my different options. Also, it would be best if the program took into consideration when the teacher wanted to leave or start, because I was given positions that were too early for me and I was rushing to be prepared for my leave date. It would also be good if the program took into consideration the location of where the teacher would like to be. I had wanted to be more in the north, but was only given positions in the southern part of Korea.

Response from Travel and Teach Recruiting Inc.

Hi Leslie,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on our services! We are very pleased to hear that you are happy with your school and with your coworkers!

As for obtaining teaching placements in Korea for our teachers, we have to work around the needs and preferences of our schools as they make the final decision on who they hire. As the demand for teachers is lower than the number of teacher applicants, we are not able to offer multiple positions to a teacher and then have them pick; it's more the opposite where schools choose who they want to interview. Schools can also be very picky with regard to who they want to hire as many look for people with degrees in Education and in-class teaching experience.

We are usually able to place our applicants for their desired start date, in their desired location, namely for those who apply well in advance. It is also easier for applicants who have their documents prepared for the visa to find positions.

Sometimes the job search takes longer when teachers are not invited for an interview with our schools that we introduce them to, which can result in 'last minute' placements in our other schools. We are sorry that you felt rushed though, as our main goal was to find you a solid placement.

If you have any further questions or concerns, our door is always open!

Questions & Answers

Hi Cazedi, Unfortunately the Korean government requires people to have a BA in order to get a working visa.

HI Leila, There are only 7 countries that South Korea will grant teaching visas to. They are: Canada, the US, the UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. If you are not a citizen of one of these countries, there unfortunately is no chance for you to get a teaching visa for Korea.

Hi Angel, Yes, we are still active :) I don't see your application, so please feel free to submit it again here: https://www.travelandteachrecruiting.com/apply-now/

Hi Alicia, You only need to have a Bachelor's degree in order to teach in Korea, so age isn't a factor.
