Great Program

Niko was very helpful in answering any questions that I may have had and responded really quickly. I also ended up at a really good school and the people I work with are great. The only issue that I really had with Travel & Teach, was that I was only given one job description at a time and I would only get a new one if I didn't get an interview with one school or if they decided they wanted someone else. I would have liked to see my different options and would have liked a choice, because I felt that I had to accept the first school that wanted me. I didn't know if there were others or not. Also, I was given jobs that were a lot earlier than I wanted which put me in a very tight space. I tried to reinforce that I couldn't leave no later than a date, but it wasn't taken into consideration very much nor the location I wanted to be.

What would you improve about this program?
It would be better if the program gave multiple options at once for the different schools that are available to interview with and allow the teachers to choose from possibly three or four (if available). Or have the teacher interview with multiple schools before making a final decision. I felt forced to chose the first one that accepted me and was frustrated only being given one school offer at a time instead of knowing my different options. Also, it would be best if the program took into consideration when the teacher wanted to leave or start, because I was given positions that were too early for me and I was rushing to be prepared for my leave date. It would also be good if the program took into consideration the location of where the teacher would like to be. I had wanted to be more in the north, but was only given positions in the southern part of Korea.

Response from Travel and Teach Recruiting Inc.

Hi Leslie,

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on our services! We are very pleased to hear that you are happy with your school and with your coworkers!

As for obtaining teaching placements in Korea for our teachers, we have to work around the needs and preferences of our schools as they make the final decision on who they hire. As the demand for teachers is lower than the number of teacher applicants, we are not able to offer multiple positions to a teacher and then have them pick; it's more the opposite where schools choose who they want to interview. Schools can also be very picky with regard to who they want to hire as many look for people with degrees in Education and in-class teaching experience.

We are usually able to place our applicants for their desired start date, in their desired location, namely for those who apply well in advance. It is also easier for applicants who have their documents prepared for the visa to find positions.

Sometimes the job search takes longer when teachers are not invited for an interview with our schools that we introduce them to, which can result in 'last minute' placements in our other schools. We are sorry that you felt rushed though, as our main goal was to find you a solid placement.

If you have any further questions or concerns, our door is always open!

Friendly and Caring Recruiting Company

Oxford Seminars put me in touch with Travel and Teach Recruiting Inc. The communication with Shane was great, he is very knowledgeable and it was super easy to talk to him. He answered my emails quickly and he answered any questions that I had with a lot of detail. He acted as the middle man between myself and the school where I am currently positioned, and again I received emails relatively fast. I had a good time with this company and I would definitely recommend it.

What would you improve about this program?
I'm not sure if this would be related to the company, but the one thing I would say that could be improved on is the need of more solid information. There were times where I felt like I was in the dark, however, I realize that this process can be a waiting game.

Travel & Teach in Korea!

I have only been in South Korea for two weeks but I already feel like its home! The school I was put in contact with have done everything they could to make my move as smooth as possible. They arranged and drove me to my medical examination and sorted out my bank account and mobile SIM card. The apartment is great, the kids are amazing and I can't wait to explore the rest of the country. Highly recommended!

A Comforting Experience

I really enjoyed my experience with Travel and Teach Recruiting. They were extremely helpful in securing me a good position, and my school is great! Shane is excellent. He really knows his stuff and will talk you through the whole process. He was also a great liaison between me and the school that I got hired at. They also keep in touch after you arrive, which is very comforting.

I would highly recommend Travel and Teach, especially if you are a first timer overseas. I used a different recruiter my first time over and while I had a good time, this time was less stressful overall.

Friendly and Reassuring

When I first decided to teach abroad I wanted to try and find a placement on my own. However, it was extremely overwhelming understanding the paperwork needed and deciding if a position was safe or not. Thanks to Travel and Teach, and my recruiter Shane, I was flying to South Korea within a month of joining the program.

Throughout the entire process I was able to simply follow Shane's straightforward instructions for what paperwork was needed and when I needed to have it. He also took care of finding positions for me, so I had very little I needed to worry about. This really made the process less stressful then it was earlier.

I was able to find a position at a reputable school with other foreign teachers and a kind Korean staff of teachers. Considering how quickly I was able to find this position I am truly grateful to Travel and Teach for their help!

What would you improve about this program?
Though I was delighted to find a position so quickly, it would have been nice to know more about the Hakwon director before I made my decision to come.

However, this program was able to make trip here much easier than it would have been otherwise.

Great experience with first time teaching position in Korea

I worked eight my recruiter for 4 months prior to getting a teaching job in Korea. Immediately after I graduated college, I knew I wanted to teach ESL abroad, and Travel and Teach made this super easy to do. I found a position in about a week once all my documents went through, and have now been in Korea for a month. My recruiter helped me every step of the way, even during my Japanese visa run!! I highly recommend this company.

Solid Recruiting Program, Great Communication

After having researched dozens of different recruiting organizations, I was happy to find Travel and Teach Recruiting Inc. Their office is smaller than many others--which I preferred and my recruiter was in constant contact with me from day one. This constant contact was most helpful during the very long and daunting document/visa process which is required for anyone wanting to teach in South Korea. There are many forms, services, and places you must go to get everything in order. At times when I felt especially frustrated, my recruiter would only be a call/e-mail away and if he didn't respond immediately, his response would be no longer than an hour. He walked me through every step and answered my many questions about the process which I was very appreciative for. His e-mails were detailed yet brief and in a manner of a few weeks he had secured me an interview with a Hagwon that I now work for. My job is stable, the employer is credible, and my students are great! If you are interested in working in South Korea and don't know where to begin, I highly recommend Travel and Teach Recruiting Inc.

What would you improve about this program?
The recruitment process is solid and they have a productive and knowledgeable team.

Questions & Answers

Hi Cazedi, Unfortunately the Korean government requires people to have a BA in order to get a working visa.

HI Leila, There are only 7 countries that South Korea will grant teaching visas to. They are: Canada, the US, the UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. If you are not a citizen of one of these countries, there unfortunately is no chance for you to get a teaching visa for Korea.

Hi Angel, Yes, we are still active :) I don't see your application, so please feel free to submit it again here: https://www.travelandteachrecruiting.com/apply-now/

Hi Alicia, You only need to have a Bachelor's degree in order to teach in Korea, so age isn't a factor.
