The Kids English team were very helpful in my preparation to move to Thailand. They outlined what paperwork I was required to obtain and assisted me with my visa application. Kids English then provided an excellent training course upon my arrival to Thailand after quarantine. I learned a lot about Thai schools and culture and the course also included fun activities such as a cooking class, excursion to the historical park and a bbq night with karaoke! I have felt supported here since starting work and feel comfortable contacting KE when I have any questions or need anything.

Kids English really start of your experience in Thailand in the best way. The entire team are so welcoming and friendly, and the course is a lot of fun. They support you every step of the way and it was really helpful for me to know I had them there to give me advice on anything that might happen when settling in to a new environment. They gave great advice on what to expect when teaching in Thailand and they even help kick start your Thai language skills! I would recommend them to anyone looking to teach in Thailand.

My experience with KidsEnglish is nothing but positive.

Employment is legal even for non-native speakers such as myself, so you don't have to worry about that.

The pre-departure guide they send you is very helpful. It covers all of the aspects - from documents and future expenses to culture tips and recommended clothes. Just take the time to read it carefully and you will be fine.

Their team walks you through the visa process, helps with all the required paperwork, assists with transfer, banking, accommodation, and provides support along the way.

In a nutshell, it's safe and transparent, and you get what you expect.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

Learn how to ride a bicycle or a motorbike so you feel comfortable

Kids English Thailand help me from day one in Thailand with all documents and other small and big things. They provide you with SIM card, bank account, help you to find accommodation and transfer you to your new future home) I learned a lot of useful things during our training days. And their team is very kind and positive. They make you feel comfortable and less scared) I am very grateful for work they are doing.
Also they are always in touch 24/7 and ready to answer your questions and help you with everything 😊😊

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

Don't be afraid to discover new food and places here) It's pretty easy to make friends in Thailand. It will be hard for those who can't handle spicy food 🔥

10 out of 10. Great service, always in touch, no fine print. Very nice and helpful people. All the people in stuff are very friendly, Matthew provided some reliable insights into the Thai life. All contracts and agreements are negotiated before signing, no playing around the bush. Also was surprised by safety standards - everything is safe, people are friendly, no petty crime. The finish-corse tour is a story of its own - team shows you ancient capital, and other places amusing places. Good stuff

Kids English not only provides a great opportunity to jumpstart your career as a teacher in Thailand but also introduces you to the country's culture and puts you through a training that prepares you to face any challenges in terms of culture clash, work environment, and everyday life in the new environment. Very professional approach but also a super friendly atmosphere. The staff is extremely nice and helpful.

The school that hired me is located in Lamphun, a small town outside of Chiang Mai. I got a warm welcome and was swiftly introduced to the place by fellow teachers.

All in all, it's a truly fantastic experience!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

Equip yourself with a lot of patience as the pace of life is a bit slower and people are more laid-back than in most other places.

I would like to first mention what a great, well-connected program for a teaching experience in Northern Thailand! I found a great school in Lampang and was supported throughout my experience there. Whenever I had a question or concern, it was dealt with the same day and felt that if anything were to happen, they had my back. That support is everything and it can make or break an experience abroad. Not to mention, they were lovey individuals doing good for the people and students of Thailand. If I were to come back to Thailand, I would definitely come back to Kids English!

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?

I would say the most surprising thing I saw was all the smiles from everyone seeing me try to speak Thai and immerse deeply into the community I was living in.

Matt and his team over at Kids English are brilliant! They are fully supportive from your first phone call, throughout the entire placement. They made the daunting prospect of moving country and starting a career as a teacher so easy and smooth. They continue to provide support with lesson planning, accommodation and any day to day general queries I may have.

If you are considering a teaching career abroad I can’t recommend Matt and Kids English enough, give them a ring and start your journey!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?

Organising flights, COE, visa and quarantine! Was definitely the most nerve-racking experience.

Samantha graduated from the University of South Africa with a BA (Honours) in Psychology. She always wanted to travel and teach in another country but always found an excuse not to. It was more of the fear of the unknown in her case. She eventually overcame her fear, completed her TEFL diploma and is now an English Teacher in Thailand. Samantha has proven that it's not to late to follow your dreams.

Why did you choose this program?

I chose Kids English Thailand because it's a reputable agency with an excellent track record. They have professional staff who are always willing to assist with any concerns or questions you may have. Although they have many foreign teachers, they make each one of us a priority.

What did your program provider (or university) assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?

KET provided me with pre-departure orientation which was extremely helpful. They assisted me with the entire recruitment process, from getting me a job to processing all the paperwork required in obtaining my Non-B visa, teacher license and work permit. The only thing I had to do was to make sure that I had all the necessary documents.

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

I would say it's very important to keep an open mind. Remember that you are visiting a totally different country from your own. Embrace and respect the new culture of the country you visiting. Do lots of research before you leave. Be receptive and open to change. Basically just go with the flow.

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

A typical week would involve walking to and from school. The school is not far and I quite enjoy the walk as I encounter lots of interesting and diverse things. I teach in a primary school with classes ranging from twenty-one to thirty-three students.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

My biggest fear was coming to a new country and being alone. I thought I would be the only foreign teacher in my school and I would be uncomfortable. Well, that fear was quickly overcome as I have met several other foreign teachers at my school who have become my new friends.

What is your favorite travel memory?

My favorite travel was when my family took me to Myanmar. We got to visit some ancient sites, temples, and cultural sites. We also got to go up in the air in a hot air balloon at sunrise and to this day it is one of the most memorable moments of my life. I have many pictures from that trip that I treasure and have displayed around my house.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Working for kids English Thailand really allowed me to use my degree in communications in a real-world situation. I am more confident; my English ability has increased, and it is statistically proven via English Proficiency exams that I have taken after the fact. Using English everyday instead of my native tongue Thai has accelerated my growth, which is something I am eternally grateful for and have admiration for Kids-English Thailand for creating an environment that is conducive to personal development.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

Working for Kids-English Thailand means that I meet foreign teachers from multiple countries and multiple walks of life! Some people are very independent whilst others need the 24/7 support that Kids-English Thailand provides. My favorite story that I tell people is from one night back in late 2021 a teacher called the Kids-English Thailand Hotline and I answered, and they needed advice on how to use a rice cooker that they had just bought, because the instructions were in Thai. For someone who has been using a rice cooker from aged 10 at first it felt like an unusual question, and I had to take a step back and put myself in someone else’s shoes and see something from a different perspective and provide the necessary support and guidance. This memory and life lesson will live on I me for the rest of my life!

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

Kids-English Thailand before 2020 had a successful China program, but post 2020 the China program is on pause and Kids English Thailand now focuses on Thailand. I would have loved to experience the teaching in China Program. I watch Chinese drama shoes and movies and I am huge fan of the ancient history of China. Having the opportunity to visit the ancient sites I see in dramas and movies would be an amazing experience for me and one I don’t know if I can ever fulfill!

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Kids English Thailand is a company that is attempting to make coming to work abroad as affordable for everyone involved. There isn’t a profit driven culture inside Kids English Thailand, it is a culture shaped around personal development, personal responsibility, and most of all affordability for all parties involved. What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

The biggest factor in my mind to make a company successful is transparency. Always striving for transparency and taking feedback seriously and attempting to improve the internal working of the company. I see this in the day-to-day work life and culture at Kids English Thailand and I believe it is a business model that can succeed, however, it’s a long-term approach and not a short-term profit driven mindset.
