Teachers' Training Journey for Better and Better English Teaching

As I sit down to reflect on my recent experience completing a 120-hour TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) course, I am filled with gratitude and excitement for the journey that has not only enhanced my teaching skills but has also reignited my passion for teaching English.

From the very first module, the course provided a comprehensive overview of the many intricacies involved in TESOL. The curriculum was thoughtfully structured, blending theoretical knowledge with practical applications. Each week, I was challenged to expand my understanding of language acquisition, pedagogy, and the diverse needs of learners from various backgrounds.

One of the highlights of the training was the emphasis on interactive teaching methods. I learned to create engaging lesson plans that cater to the varied proficiency levels and learning styles of my students. The course encouraged us to embrace technology in the classroom, which has become increasingly vital in today's digital age. Being introduced to various tools and resources, like online platforms and digital games, has inspired me to incorporate these elements into my lessons, making learning more dynamic and appealing.

Peer collaboration was another fundamental aspect of the program. Working with fellow teachers-in-training allowed us to share insights, discuss challenges, and brainstorm solutions together. The constructive feedback we received from our peers and instructors helped me refine my teaching techniques and develop greater confidence in my abilities. It was a nurturing and supportive environment that made our learning journey even more valuable.

The course also addressed the importance of cultural awareness and sensitivity in language teaching. Recognizing the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our students is crucial to creating an inclusive classroom environment. I have become more aware of how cultural factors influence language learning and am now better equipped to support my students in overcoming their unique challenges.

As I graduated from the 120-hour TESOL course, I discovered a renewed sense of purpose. I feel well-prepared to step into the classroom and make a meaningful impact on my students' lives. Armed with new strategies, insights, and a wealth of resources at my fingertips, I am eager to apply what I have learned to foster a love for English in my students.

In conclusion, my journey through this TESOL program has been transformative. It has equipped me with essential tools to become a more effective educator, and I am excited to implement my newfound knowledge in real-world teaching scenarios. I wholeheartedly recommend this training to any educators looking to enhance their English teaching skills and make a lasting difference in their students’ lives. Here's to a future of better and better English teaching!

Excellent

It was an easy process and even the modules are very helpful. The exam are easy to answer if you really take it seriously when you studying the lessons. It’s very helpful especially when you planned to teach in other country. The other people would know that availing your service will add up to your qualifications and knowledge. I didn’t got a hard time navigating the site and even reading the lessons because it seems like a review for me as I already taught those lessons to my students. Thank you so much.

Good independent review

I really liked how this refreshed everything I know about English as well as provided valuable new knowledge on how to teach in general. I like to think I have decent English proficiency. I have been speaking the language my whole life and posses plenty of technical expertise. Still, the course managed to teach me more new things about English that I either forgot or never knew about. I also learned a lot about teaching as I have much less experience with that.

The support team could get better and I truly hope they do. Other than that, the whole experience was perfect.

What would you improve about this program?
The support team was not as assistive as I had hoped. I asked a question. It was a fairly technical one that probably required going to an outside source to answer. The answer I received seemed impersonal, and robotic. It felt like it was only given to me simply to pacify me and not to actually answer my question. I really hope this improves in the future. I am sure that the support team are more competent than they show themselves to be. They can certainly live up to their potential given the right motivation.
Pros
  • The content is insightful. I both learned and relearned a lot.
  • Examples are concrete. A lot of the lessons were much easier to understand from the examples.
Cons
  • I might just be uninformed about the industry as a whole but the tests seemed too easy.

A good reminder

It is a very convenient course that helps boost your English skills; all the information is very well-structured and summarised. It dives into the most important topics when it comes to teaching. The course helps you remember the very first steps to learning English, some of the elements might be basic, but they offer a good range of clear information that I will be able to use when teaching abroad. In my opinion, it is more useful for the person who is starting to prepare and understand the language.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Make sure that you feel confident about what you are doing; if you are a first-time teacher just remember to remain calm and prepare your lessons before hand, that way you will have everything handled.
Pros
  • time management
  • confidence
  • understanding

Amazing Online Teaching Course

To be honest, I really like the content inside the World TESOL Academy about the teaching strategies, the simple seating arrangement inside the classroom yet helpful to my teaching classroom based and even in my online tutoring. Nevertheless, I learned a lot of things from the module lesson because of the video teaching the young learners. It's a quite challenging to me since I have a work full time so I need to managed my time to take the exam. I took this 120 TEFL/TESOL Course because I want to expand my knowledge not only about English language but also the diversity of each students inside and outside the classroom. In these course I really love and I have fun. For now I will purchase the hard copy of my TEFL certificate. That's all and keeping forward to it.

What was your funniest moment?
Always bring your notes since there are a lot of module topics you need to study. Not all information in the course can remember in a long time by our memory, so by doing this way it'll be less hassle if something forgot during the assessment or quizzes.
Pros
  • Its fun to learn new things about teaching through this course.
  • Quite challenging yet really love the context.
  • Easy to access online and really worth it to take risk since this is known worldwide
