Accredited 120-hour TESOL/TEFL Course - World TESOL Academy

I enjoyed the course a lot. I have more than 20 years of experience in teaching English as a foreign language, English for Aacademic Purposes, TOEFL prep, English for Medical Purposes and OET prep at university level. This course has helped me brush up my teaching skills and update my professional knowledge. However, there was one thing I have found disappointing and discouraging about the course: all the observation videos were excerpts taken from one single teacher (called teacher Jay) teaching a group of kindergarten kids. Now, if this were a course of TEYP only (teaching English to young leaners), then it would have been all right. However, a 120 hour TESOL /TEFL certificate course should have had a more balanced approach when it came to presenting examples of diverse teaching enviroments including all age groups and various types of English courses. I would very much like to have seen examples of class observations where different ELT instructors teach teenagers, adults, and business professionals etc. in such a general course. Not everybody teaches or will be teaching young learners after they get their TESOL / TEFL certificate.

I wish I hadn't put this off for so long, it was a lovely experience for a great price. I have been homeschooling for 9 years and very involved in education, but never as a complete teacher. I kept putting it off because of times, cost, etc. but that was silly. I should have done this ages ago. I am excited to start teaching online and add this certificate for my resume as I look into teaching more full-time. It was a pleasant experience that I could do in my spare time. Very easy to access and lots of good information in improve my current teaching practices.

To give some past context, I currently have my BEd Foundation Phase degree but still decided to do a TESOL/TEFL course and I couldn't be any happier. I truly believe that you can never learn enough; I have learned so much through this course. Not only from the academic perspective, but this course has also allowed me to grow as I learn and to focus on my determination to reach my dreams. The title, "And Then There Were Only Home" felt truly suitable for this course and World TESOL Academy because when going through this course you realize that it doesn't matter in which country you are, your love for teaching a language will always make you feel at home. I enjoyed this course and would recommend this course to anybody.

This course was straightforward to access and very very well planned and designed, as to what motivated me to keep learning. What I liked the best was all the activities and examples provided when learning the content. To show you practical ways how to teach and create fun but safe lessons.

The course is very well-planned and easy to follow.
It has a good motivating style for each lesson, and I loved that I could test my knowledge at the end of each module.
It gave me great tools to use as a teacher and a different point of view of the English language. I am Italian, and usually, classes are very different as they tend to focus mainly only on grammar.
I would definitely recommend the course to my friends, and I am looking forward to refining my teaching skills with the other courses available on the platform.

I am glad I was able to apply and finish this course. It was an enthralling experience allowing me to gain further depths of knowledge about teaching. The course did not only include teaching teachniques for classroom and online teaching, but also offered grammar knowledge and lots of valuable information for my teaching career. Nevertheless it would also have been great to include specific lesson plans and which sources, essentially books, to use while teaching different age groups. After finishing it, i am further motivated to start teaching!

I've been looking at opportunities to teach English abroad. Though I earned my undergraduate degree, most opportunities still require TESOL/TEFL certification. I came across World TESOL Academy, and I must say that I am thankful that I chose to enroll on the platform. Learning can be overwhelming at times, but there was this assurance that I was not alone throughout the journey of finishing my certification, as I knew there would be someone to help me if I found myself having a hard time. I was able to finish the course within the given time frame. The videos in the lessons and the quizzes I took at the end of every lesson are very helpful.

I will honestly say I have very little experience in teaching English and have not studied English for several years, but this course was a great refresher. It brought back the things I learned in elementary school. I was quite nervous about it at first but once I started going through the modules and having everything broken down to simple terms, I found myself enjoying it. It also teaches you tips and tricks to promote a fun learning environment for your student as well as games and activities. Right down to teaching lesson plans and classroom etiquette. I will be signing up for more classes soon! Thank you for giving me some confidence to be able to teach here in Taiwan!

I have done another 120-hour TEFL/TESOL course before and I found this one more precise and efficient. I was motivated to complete my course in a timely manner and the process of the course was seamless, help was also readily available at all times. The information provided in each module was to the point and additional links were also provided for further optional reading. The module quizzes at the end of each section were very helpful and reiterated what was taught. The final examination was manageable and the questions asked were balanced and covered all the material that was taught in the course.
