Excellent and Informative course!

This course gave me exactly what I needed to improve as a TEFL teacher. It was clear and understandable. The course was very logical, and the ‘Top TEFL Tips’ were especially helpful.

The online content was very easy to navigate. The reviews and assessments highlighted key learning points and made these easier to keep in mind when preparing lessons. The online resources were helpful for the course and have also been very useful in real-life teaching. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who would like to teach English as a foreign language.

My experience

I recently completed a TEFL course and found it to be an incredibly rewarding and enriching experience. The course offered a comprehensive overview of English language teaching, including grammar, lesson planning, classroom management, and teaching techniques for different age groups and proficiency levels. The modules were well-structured and easy to follow, with a good balance of theory and practical application.

One of the highlights was the emphasis on real-world teaching scenarios, which helped build my confidence and prepared me for a classroom environment. The assignments encouraged critical thinking and creativity, and I appreciated the detailed feedback from tutors, which was both constructive and motivating.

The online platform was user-friendly, allowing me to progress at my own pace. Support from the course team was readily available whenever I had questions or needed clarification. By the end of the course, I felt well-equipped with the tools and strategies needed to begin my journey as an English teacher.

Overall, I highly recommend this TEFL course to anyone considering teaching English abroad or online. It not only strengthened my teaching skills but also broadened my understanding of global education and communication.

Level 3 TEFL qualification: Review on completion by Henriette Steenkamp

I took this course because I need an additional income to supplement my monthly income. This type of course is ideal for me because I am very experienced in online training and while studying to become a teacher (years ago), I majored in Teacher English as a second language. I needed the TEFL qualification to be able to train online in this modern day and age. I searched online for suitable providers and came across the TEFL Academy. Accreditation is very important for me and they did not disappoint.

The course content and structure was excellent and it contained all the relevant information required to equip me for the task at hand. The material was easy to follow and I learned a lot about grammar, lesson planning, teaching methods and classroom management.

The course I took was a self-study course (online) and I must say, the platform was excellent. I never experienced any technical issues and managed to sail through all the units without a glitch. The course was very interactive, including videos, downloadable resources and quizzes.

When I requested student support, feedback was excellent and provided in good time. Feedback on assignments was really quickly. The Academy indicated between 5 - 8 working days, but I always received feedback within two days.
I really feel prepared to teach English online now and am excited to start. I sincerely recommend this course to anyone interested in teaching English as a foreign language.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
I think waiting for the outcome of my assignment was very nerve-racking. It started with running the AI and plagiarism checker, Although I was sure I would have low scores, I still worried. Then the submission and waiting for the assessor to give feedback. I calmed my nerves by reading a book. (LOL)
Pros
  • Excellent content
  • Interesting and challenging assignments
  • Excellent TEFL staff
Cons
  • I would like to have access to the training material for longer, even if it is just to view.
  • I would like a manual of all the content in the units covered.

Engaging course!

I loved the level 3 certificate. Each topic was interesting and relevent. The assignments had clear direction and where accessible. The support was good if you had questions. Also received detailed feedback on assignments which was helpful.

The structure of the course was one of its greatest strengths. It was clearly laid out into manageable modules, each focusing on different aspects of teaching English—from grammar and lesson planning to classroom management and student engagement. The content was presented in a way that was both engaging and practical. I particularly appreciated the interactive elements like quizzes and scenario-based tasks.

Flexibility was another major benefit. Since the course was entirely online and self-paced, I could fit my studies around my full-time job and personal life. I never felt rushed, and I appreciated being able to go back and review material whenever I needed to.

The support from the course team was also excellent. Even though it was an online course, I never felt like I was alone. Tutors were available to answer questions and provide feedback on assignments, and they responded promptly and helpfully every time I reached out. Their encouragement and constructive criticism really made a difference and helped me improve along the way.

What stood out most was how practical and real-world-focused the training was. The course didn’t just focus on theory—it provided tons of examples, tips, and activities that I could see myself using in an actual classroom. It also covered both online and in-person teaching methods, which was great since I’m considering remote teaching opportunities as well as international ones.

By the time I completed the course, I felt confident and excited about stepping into the world of TEFL. I now have a solid understanding of how to plan engaging lessons, manage different types of learners, and create a positive learning environment. The certificate I received is already opening doors.I've started applying for teaching positions abroad and online, and I've even had a couple of interviews lined up!

Following the passion

I decided to take it the TEFL level 3 course considering the affordability & the duration. The topics, sub-topics, exercises, explanations and assignments were very well thought of and organised and easy to follow. The small activities in between kept it interesting not to forget the videos. Quizes were very practical and motivating whereas the assignments were very well explained and the feedback very helpful by the tutors. I think level 5 would be recommended for someone trying to make a career out of teaching as most of the physical jobs abroad ask for level 5 certificate. Overall, very good experience. The tutor support is really good they corrected my last assignment only in few days and were very gentle.

Very thorough course

I recently completed the course online and was very impressed with the experience. The course is very straightforward to follow, understand, and complete. The lessons are clear, engaging, and well-structured. The course has given me a lot of confidence both in my own language skills but also in teaching.

The resources provided are very useful, and I now count on a substantial library to start creating my own lessons. There are a few top-up courses that I'm starting to explore to further learn more in the area that I would like to specialise in.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Creating my first lesson plan, I was so unorganised! But I eventually evisoned what I wanted to do and was able to present it well in a lesson.

Good but more support needed

Overall, the content was good and well suited for the course. The feedback on assignments was quick and detailed. However, there should be more opportunities specifically tailored to individuals living in the Caribbean, as their needs and contexts may differ. Including region-specific resources, examples, and support would greatly enhance the relevance and accessibility of the course. Additionally, offering assistance with job placement would be a valuable addition, helping participants apply their skills in the workforce more effectively.
