I recently completed the TEFL Nomad 120-hour online course, and it exceeded my expectations. The course is well-structured, clear, and easy to follow at your own pace. The modules cover everything from lesson planning and grammar to teaching methodology and classroom management. I particularly appreciated the practical examples and activities, which made the theory easy to apply.

The support from instructors was excellent—they were prompt and helpful whenever I had questions. By the end of the course, I felt confident in my ability to teach English online or in a classroom setting. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to formalize your teaching skills, this course is a fantastic starting point.

This course offers a good introduction to teaching L2 for learners. The course focuses on young learners more but would also be valuable for teachers who aim to teach other ages (7+). I especially enjoyed the podcast episodes as they kept me engaged and were fun anecdotes to listen to from James. I also really liked the section on classroom management and different types of seating possibilities. I had not considered these before.

I do, however, feel that some of the information was a bit outdated, especially when it comes to the "Teaching Online" and "Technology" sections, but this could differ country by country. Some of the materials could also be condensed slightly as there appeared to be a lot of repetition at times. I also thought that sometimes the language used was not appropriate, for example, calling students lazy without acknowledging possible learning disabilities and differences was unfortunate. I think there should be a section focusing on these as a lot of inexperienced teachers (or people coming from other fields) might not take this option into consideration.

Furthermore, sometimes the quizzes were worded in a very confusing manner, so it required extra focus and thought when answering questions, although this might be a tactic to keep course takers more focused. Sometimes, I struggled answering questions that seemed easy at first hand.

Overall, I did, however, enjoy the course. It was informative and well structured, and gave me a good insight on teaching abroad and working with different types of learners.

I completed the 120 hour TEFL course in hopes to become a teacher in Thailand. I found that this program was really helpful in my learning to become and covered the basics of grammar as well as essential teaching skills. I particularly enjoyed the podcasts and example lesson plans that were shown throughout the modules, as they provided a more in-depth view of real teaching experiences. I think it would be beneficial for learners with no prior teaching experience if the course provided more practical examples of teaching, for example, including a "how to" video for one of the activities. Despite this, I gained a lot of confidence in my ability to teach English as an L2 and am looking forward to putting it in practice!

The content was well organised into sections, with each new module complementing the knowledge gained in the previous module. The podcasts were interesting and were a nice break from reading text, and the resources were a really useful guide to developing lesson plans and activities. The course also pinpoints you to helpful sites and resources online, so that you can begin to develop teaching materials independently. The tone of the writing made the more technical parts of the course more engaging. I would definitely recommend!
