The online TEFL course offered by The TEFL Academy was an affordable choice. I didnt know anything about the course, yet once I started I was impressed at how user friendly and easy the online course was to complete. It was actually quite enjoyable, and support was available quickly and efficiently.

I would definitely recommend this course to others. I also found a job on their job board. it gives me peace of mind to apply for jobs from their website, as I feel the posts would have been verified.

I enjoy learning languages, and the subject of English, so I did not find the course onerous or difficult. I think it was pitched just right.

I am looking forward to working as a teacher overseas- this has been a great platform for my future!

What would you improve about this program?

I would only like to recommend that you offer the option of a remark, by a different reviewer, which you could charge for.
I received D&M's for all my course quizzes and assignments, except for one section of Assignment C that I received a P for. I'm quite disappointed in this.

I felt that this course prepared me more than was necessarily expected for a teaching course. Not only are the modules challenging and well presented but the course is cost-effective and the staff behind the operation are extremely helpful. I found that the course prepared me for almost any situation a person could face when teaching English and there are a lot. What I liked most about the course though was that I was learning something worth keeping. The 20-hour weekend course was interactive, fun and I even made a few friends there. I also found the staff to be very knowledgeable, helpful and all-around friendly. If you're looking for a well rounded, professionally accredited course that gives you a bang for your buck, look no further!!!!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?

I would have honestly just added more practical hours.

I had an amazing experience during the course. The online portion can be particularly challenging, especially if not taken seriously. The course is packed with interesting and useful exercises and tests which help you to engage with and think about the course materials. I personally really enjoyed the in class portion, as it was an eye opening experience and we had a great opportunity to think outside the box and challenge ourselves to think outside the box. It was amazing to meet the other people doing the course as well. Also, our facilitator was absolutely amazing and it was evident that she had a wealth of valuable knowledge and experience. This course, while challenging at times, was well worth my while and I'd absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to enter the existing world of TEFL.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?

Having to prepare mock classes in a short time. We worked together in groups and received guidance and constructive criticism from our classmates and facilitator.

The course was very helpful and it taught me a lot. The experience taught me to get out of my comfort zone and not be afraid to take on new challenges, it’s not easy teaching and the TEFL finds the best way to teach , it brings a creative and unique to teaching , that should be applied to all school systems throughout the world. It was a good experience learning and doing the work , I got a lot of good feedback and I learned how to handle difficult situations in a suitable manner. The course is great and I will recommend it to many more people. It is a life changing experience and it is a good way to discover hidden talents, for example I didn’t know I would be so good at teaching until I did the course . I would like to thank the TEFL academy for the opportunity

What would you improve about this program?

I would recommend that the course allows for a more personal interaction with the instructors and course regulators because it simplifies the understanding of the learner . Video calls would be the best way to interact with The learners

As a graduate of the University of Cape Town, I've had some experience with Online Courses. The TEFL is so much more than that, though. With its wide variety of modules neatly separated into various categories that teaches so many things, it never feels overwhelming or too challenging. Simply put, it exceeds all expectations in terms of content, presentation and overall experience. A fresh and comprehensive take on blended-learning that is welcomed with open arms such that it does not solely cater to people working in Education. This course is surprisingly thorough and no subject ever feels inadequate or unfinished.
I would highly and comfortably recommend this course to anyone, regardless of their interests or field of work. It has something for everyone.

What was your funniest moment?

Performing Mock Lesson Plans during In-Class hours

I loved the experience of the classroom training. So much fun!! And very very helpful. This course has been a joy from the get go. I felt unsure if I would be able to teach other people. I am a Pharmacist and very scientific. How so you teach if you have no experience?! I am so confident after the course because they teach you methods and give you guidelines how to teach. It was so easy anyone can do it. The hardest part of the whole experience is to decide where to go after you have completed your course! Europe,Asia,Middle East...The world is your oyster!! It was very affordable. It doesn't fee like a gamble. You can do this even if you don't use it right away. It just gives you that extra qualification that sets you apart from the other guy

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?

That I can speak English very well,but I know none of the rules as to why!!! Tenses were tricky

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

The one piece of advice I would give is to plan ahead and to do your best. Worrying and stressing won't help you. The resources, as well as the markers, are there to assist and help you achieve your best. Planning ahead is beneficial as you do not want to get stuck with a pile of work and then have to ask for an extension. Just do your absolute best and you will reap the rewards.

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

The TEFL course spanned over a period of 6 months which gave me ample time to complete my course accordingly. Some units take more time than others to complete, but if you plan and stick to that plan, you will not have a problem. The TEFL site also makes it easy and exciting to learn so that you do not get bored or frustrated during your study session.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

I have no been abroad yet for TEFL teaching, but I am surely looking into it. I would love to travel to Asia, as I have been to India once and I absolutely loved it. I would like to visit Japan, South Korea, and China as a TEFL teacher and hopefully start my career there. I look forward to new experiences and challenges.

Any other tips for any prospective traveler?

India is a fantastic country, not quite like what I initially perceived it to be. The people are genuine and the country itself is a true wonder. My advice to anyone traveling there is to absorb as much as he/she/they can. India is rich with culture and history, full of diversity. Visiting places such as the Taj Mahal brings a totally different feeling, the atmosphere is spectacular. India is a beautiful country and so are its people.
