Great Experience

My highlights were definitely the group activities and the cultural tour. especially those which encouraged mingling with others but not in a forced way. obviously, teaching was also the main highlight as it was an amazing experience. Getting to meet people from different corners of the world, and even ones at my own uni made the experience so much more comfortable and it was easy to make new friends. The company was extremely helpful throughout the whole experience and were to quick to answer any queries and gave lots of help. It definitely was the best way I've ever spent my summer.

Pros
  • fully funded
  • easy to make new friends
  • cultural immersion

Europe placement!

I had the opportunity to go to both Germany and Spain this summer! I had such a great time with both. The cultural tours put on by GotoCo were such a great experience to have before my different camps. I learned some things about the country that could only be known by living it. I was grateful for that opportunity. I keep telling friends that all I was doing was “gallivanting around europe all summer” and it truly was as fun as it sounds. GotoCo always were available for any quick questions and inquiries I had!

Pros
  • Exploring new places
  • Meeting people with the same interests as you
Cons
  • TESOL course is a bit tough

Summer in Bali

There is no other company that offers fully funded and free trips abroad. I was really grateful to go to Bali because I wouldn't have been able to go otherwise without this programme. The staff are very friendly and supportive and quick to refund you if you bought your own flights. The teaching part exceeded my expectations and has made me want to pursue teaching in the future. Above all, I got to meet so many new people and make good friends. I would recommend this experience to everyone, and I would love to do it again.

Pros
  • Free trip
Cons
  • Hard work but worth it

Thailand 2022

It was overall a great experience that I'm glad I completed. I gained a lot of new experiences and met new people in a time in my life where I have no idea what I'm doing next. The programme allowed me to become more confident especially interacting with new people and people I don't know that well and it gave me something exciting to do after graduation. The programme allowed me to experience both tourist and rural Thailand along with local culture and lifestyle. I would never have been able to do something like this on my own without Gocoto.

Pros
  • Meeting new people
  • Gaining new experiences
Cons
  • TESOL can be a lot of work
  • Sometimes very rural

Teaching English in Bali - great experience

A highlight was visiting Bali and learning about its culture, nature and history, because I had never been to that part of the world before and so it was super interesting to me. The planned excursions, as well as the trips we made by ourselves were both so exciting. The teaching experience was extremely interesting as well, and I really enjoyed watching the progress my students made in their English level. I also enjoyed meeting all the other interns and making new friends. This was a great experience in terms of the skills I have learned, but also socially and culturally, and even just as a tourist.

Pros
  • funded English teaching qualification
  • funded trips around around the country/region
  • meeting great people
Cons
  • a lot of work for the TESOL or TEFL

Incredible funded teaching experience in Bali

I think that GoToCo is an excellent opportunity to travel abroad and broaden your perspective without needing to spend any money. It is fantastic that anyone can experience other cultures no matter their financial situation. I really enjoyed the connections and friendships I made with like-minded people on the programme as well as our wonderful local Balinese hosts and helpers who gave me a unique insight into Balinese culture. I feel that this program has allowed me to make long-lasting connections and friendships as well as helping me understand other cultures and perspectives. It has been a great experience.

Awesome experience with GotoCo in Poland!

My experience with Gotoco has quite literally been life-changing! Right from my flight out of Bristol to spending four weeks in Poland. From exploring Poland by bike, kayaking and swimming in lakes and meeting countless awesome and interesting people. I have truly had the time of my life and made friends for life. A great experience and I cannot recommend this enough to anyone looking for an unforgettable uni summer! The Gotoco team has been completely supportive throughout and the cultural tour around Poland at the end of our program was great fun and well organised.

Pros
  • Made loads of new friends
  • Learned so much about the culture of Poland
  • Gained confidence travelling solo
Cons
  • It came to an end too soon!

Gotoco Funded Summer TESOL Program to Thailand and Cambodia

I would recommend as it is an amazing opportunity to learn a lot about yourself and others. It can offer employable benefits. I would mention that it can be very difficult but definitely worth it - you learn a lot about yourself and gain a lot of confidence.

Gotoco staff are really lovely and helpful. Next time I would just be more aware of how overwhelmed they are and that communication can be a bit slow as a consequence. This encouraged me to be self-sufficient and really put me in the position to develop my confidence resolving problems and my independence.

Pros
  • Funded
  • Travel opportunity
Cons
  • Can be extremely rural
  • Living conditions can be rough
