Go to China with gotoco! I had the best summer of my life living and teaching in China. I had the opportunity to travel around China, make lifelong friends, grow professionally and personally, and learn about Chinese culture. I stepped out of my comfort zone and I am so grateful that gotoco gave me the opportunity to do so. Gotoco also helped me realize my love for working with children! I am forever grateful for that opportunity. I am also grateful that gotoco allowed me to increase my self-confidence in terms of traveling. I was not a well-traveled individual before going to China, but now I feel as if I could comfortably see any country!

I could not have asked for a better trip. I came in with little personal travel or teaching experience but found both to be extremely rewarding. Gotoco paired me with a wonderful camp with lovely staff and children that created a positive and welcoming environment, especially as I do not speak the language. I didn't expect that this trip could provide as big of a window as it did: to really learn about China -- through thoughtful person to person interaction that made me feel like I was there with intention and purpose.

It’s a great way to experience China - living and working with the locals. It’s great for travel and the teaching experience is a unique opportunity- certainly worth taking. I have just had one of my most memorable summers to date in China thanks to Gotoco. This company allowed me to meaningfully travel to and around China at a student-friendly budget and is responsible for me falling in love with the country and teaching English as a foreign language. The programme is an excellent way to broaden your horizons, make new friends and boost your confidence through teaching classes of eager learners from a variety of age groups and ability levels. Our Sunday group trips were such fun and a great way to unwind, with Na’nao Island and a Pottery class standing out as highlights. The teaching staff at BOB were extremely friendly, helpful and quickly made us feel like part of a large family. The bilingual festivals also allowed us as volunteers to insert some individuality to lessons and were great cultural exchange opportunities. Thank you, Gotoco, for allowing me to become a certified TEFL teacher whilst having such fun in the process! I will definitely recommend this company to others in the future.

Great company, smooth process, kept in the loop all through the beginning stages, and had a great experience once in China. Would definitely recommend to anyone else wanting to travel or teach. Everyone else was super friendly. The school was great and made sure everyone was happy. GOTOCO provided TEFL documents to learn from before arrival so that you were well prepared. Would definitely go back again and do a similar project through them.

I couldn't recommend Gotoco enough; going to China through this program allowed me to expand my horizons both culturally and gastronomically. BOB was the school I volunteered at and the day trips organized by them were fantastic, I enjoyed teaching very much and the Bilingual Festivals were a great way to show parents what students have learned over the last few weeks. Learning Mandarin as part of the process was also very valuable and interesting.Going to Little Guilin and Nan'ao Island were great, and looking around the markets and being able to haggle was also a good experience. The 5 night trip to Yangshuo started badly (we missed our train) but it was worth the cost as it is possibly the most stunning place in China I have been to! I loved the lessons too of course, and got on with (most of!) the children very very well.

Meeting the vast array of people and partaking in peculiar and progressing programs was such a delight. I hope I can do this once more! Usually, I'm not one to put myself into a program so far out of my comfort zone but this was the program to do it with. So often you have programs that just use their volunteers and don't care for them. However, that's not GoToCo, they are so dependable and responsible when it comes to working with their employees and volunteers.

I had a wonderful experience with Gotoco, I met some amazing people and had an amazing time exploring the culture. The teaching was challenging but fun, and it was a very rewarding experience!
There is a lot to do, and the trip to Yangshou was incredible I had a fantastic time, the city was beautiful something I definitely recommend to everyone. I think that the experience teaching is invaluable and you’re constantly learning about yourself through the teaching. The children are fun, and when working with young children it was really good as it enabled me to carry out activities which are relaxed and fun for children.
