I absolutely loved doing this program. I will admit, in the beginning through the application process and interviews and such I had a really hard time with communicating as well as the language they use makes you have to rush through it all quickly. Even with that being said the actual program itself is so amazing. I am so glad that I was able to come and do this opportunity. It has given me professional experience as well as so many new personal connections. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to live abroad and really soak in the culture through daily life. It really has been such a fun experience.

I had an awesome time doing an internship through Beyond Academy.

The internship itself was great. I got to do something that aligned with my interests and did not feel pressured to work long hours, something people warned me about.

Coordinators and other interns made the experience special since we were doing events twice a week. Sometime just going to a new park and other times going all the way to Enoshima for a day trip.

The only downsides for me were my commute (~1 hour) and not having friends within my share house.

Beyond Academy was great; they hold numerous events, got me placed with a company very quickly. The company was prompt and was always communicative! I was able to travel to numerous places all over Japan. When in the office, I had a multitude of tasks all to my skill level, and of somewhat importance, making my own work feel important to the company. Beyond academy holds various events like karaoke, sightseeing around Tokyo, and several dinners for all interns to enjoy. If you are thinking about going abroad, go for it!

I absolutely loved this program. I went to Tokyo, Japan for my internship and it was just absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed my time there and the friends I made inside the program Everything was very well coordinated and planned out, very easy to go through the steps of interviewing and selecting a company to work for. Support was easy to get and communicate with if you had any issues or problems. There were also many community events for you to explore new places and meet other people who are doing the same program as you so you can make friends. I would definitely recommend to anyone who can to do this.

Beyond was the perfect way to be abroad and have a guarantee of having friends and fun events to go to. They were very accommodating and helpful. The house I was staying at was in a perfect location. All the events were tailored to things people wanted to do and see. We had incredible experiences at things like a trip to mount fuji, traditional tea ceremonies in kimono, and karaoke parties. They were kind and helpful and always ready to step in for anything we needed.There was not a bad thing to say about the experience! It was perfect all around.

When I first came to Japan I was unaware of the nuances of this complex community, however, Beyond offers us all the support to immerse ourselves in the culture. Besides, my intership was very curated, they made sure I was matched with a company that aligned with my goals and because of that my time here gave me a lot of learning opportunities. Super recommend! The city is perfect as is fits whatever need you may have, the work is productive and the community support is helpful, so if you think about studying abroad here, do it!

Something people should know before deciding whether or not to do it is that you can only gain things out of this experience, whether it be personal or professional. The internship is hit or miss but I’ve learned so much about myself and about other cultures are other people while here.

After the 8-week internship, I feel more confident in my field and have learned and gained some experience outside of my field as well. I can also say I feel a lot more confident with living and working abroad and I have decided I want to live and work in different countries so once I graduate.

Beyond Academy exceeded expectations a lot. The events they hosted were very fun and well organized and allowed for easy access to different locations around Tokyo and Japan. I went into this only to receive an internship, but got so much more. The internship I was provided also was fantastic as I got placed with my friend and in a wonderful company. The coordinators at Beyond were also very on top of things and supported. They made sure you knew reassurance and support was there if you ever needed it. Overall was a great experience and I would highly reccommend to anyone considering. (Housing did not apply for me)
