I am a impulsive person. One day in November 2024 I got stressed out about finances. I am a business owner and thing do get tough sometimes. So, impulsively, I enrolled for this TEFL course. I thought this was going to be a quick and easy online course. I'll do it in a week, get my certificate and off I go to China. Of course it's not that easy. What was I thinking?
I'll tell you this. This course has opened my eyes to possibilities. It has also prepared me for the BCom I am starting with in January 2025.
The (3) assignments in the TEFL Level 5 course are really challenging. This is what I've always expected from an online learning program. Not just multiple choice questions, but assignments that really challenge you and test your comprehension of the knowledge conveyed.
Since I am MD of my business, I have not yet decided how I want to use my new qualification. I want to get to a point where I can remove myself from the business' operations and then go do something else, something useful or perhaps start an online English school of my own. Or perhaps the most exciting of all, travel the world.
I would definitely recommend this program to anyone who are interested in a TEFL career. The program is well structured and the content is comprehensive.
What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
When I realised that this wasn't just some online course but a full-on diploma. Then, knowing that this is equivalent to 2nd year BCom, I got freaked out a little, because I just enrolled for BCom and I have not received any proper tertiary education to date. But, I spent the time, read the instructions for my assignments carefully and I successfully completed the course.
Also, the 10 hour practical training was quite intense but very educational.
