Hello, my name is Kylie I am 22 years old. As I was flying from Buffalo, New York to Denpasar, Indonesia to start my 3 weeks teaching English in Ubud I never could have predicted how much I would really learn from this experience. From the amazing cultural I got to experience first hand on a daily basis, to the 3rd graders I taught, to the people from all around the world I made forever friends with, volunteering has made a huge impact on my life. After spending 3 weeks with my students the last day was so hard to say goodbye to each and everyone of them. They’re so respectful and eager to learn it’s hard to leave them after class everyday because they want to stay and learn more. It’s amazing to see how joyful these kids are with every little thing they have. From playing on break time with a ball made from recycled paper to playing jump rope with old shreds of fabric and clothes tied together. This experience will really open up your eyes and help you realize how incredibly blessed and lucky you are. Having clean running water, more than enough food in your belly, and all the electronics and technologies we take for granted. I can say that I will definitely be volunteering again, and hopefully for longer next time! This experience really touched me, and made me look at life differently. If anyone is considering volunteering through IVHQ I would 100% recommend it. If you have any questions or concerns you’ll always get a quick helpful response. Your coordinators you’re provided with give you so much helpful advice and tips on where to go and how to get there, they help so much it’s so nice to have them there. Volunteering can help find your true self, while helping those around you. My dream of helping others and traveling has came true thanks to IVHQ Bali, Ubud teaching program. Can’t wait for my next trip!

I decided to volunteer in Bali 3 weeks before my trip. And I was able to book and organize everything in such short noticed thanks to IVHQ.
The resources the provide are of extreme value, and makes the whole journey really stress free and enjoyable.
Plus, since they are really easy to contact, you are able to go with no doubts about where you are staying, how will you get there, and how will the trip be.
Also, not only they they allow you to visit the island by giving you the time you need, as they facilitate that for you by arranging good deals with the local community.
And finally, the amazing people that you meet along the way just make the whole journey an unforgettable time.
Definitely the platform I will use when I volunteer next year!

My experience volunteering in Bali, Lovina with IVHQ was unforgettable. For just over 2 weeks I participated in the Kindergarten Support & Teaching program and already cannot wait to go back someday very soon. The housing was very welcoming making it easy to meet others and feel at home. There was lots of traditional food offered at the house giving a small taste of what Bali’s culture has to offer every day. A cool thing about this program is that half of your weekday is spent at schools teaching children and the other half of your day is spent doing something for the community such as, cleaning beaches or the streets of garbage. This made my experience in Bali, Lovina even more rewarding than I could have imagined. On weekends I would venture off with other volunteers and had the chance to see what other beauty Bali had to offer in different towns. For anyone considering in participating in this experience, I would highly recommend. I hope all who participate have the time of their lives, just as I did.

My time in Bali was something I will remember for the rest of my life. I spent three weeks in a kindergarten in Ubud, and two weeks on the Sea Turtle Conservation project. The kids in the Kindergarden were so cute and absolutely loved that you were there. There was also lots to do around Ubud on the weekends and during your free time. The Sea Turtle Conservation project on Nusa Penida was I think my favorite IVHQ program I have done, and I have completed five. You could tell the Conservation center really needed the volunteers, and you could see your work pay off because of how well the turtles were doing. Nusa Penida itself is an absolute dream. So many unreal places to visit, amazing beaches, and everything you need is walking distance from the accommodation!

IVHQ was a seamless process of communication before I traveled abroad. Their response times were fast and the team took the time to answer all my questions. They helped me feel supported and prepared to be in country through providing valuable information about the country and program before I left. My teaching experience changed my life and my perspectives. When in country, I felt I was completely immersed in the culture and can not wait to volunteer again. This experience was unique because I got to teach with another volunteer and I got to completely choose the content and methodologies I used. We also had a translator in classroom for help, who was supportive of our classroom choices. There is also so much to do around the area of Bali we were in, and the local team helps plan the outings for you if you seek help.

Everything has been amazing!!!! , food, staff, local people, kids, trips, the house, the people you meet, classes, moments, temples, the orientation weeks, the organization, prices, etc.
It was my first time at teaching and it’s lovely how kids are so smart, loving, open, excitedddd about everything!!!!!, the new friendships that you made are for life with great memories of everything together as well.
At first I was scary about coming alone, but it really worked for me, because you are forced to open and meet new great people, join to different activities, etc.
The local people and the staff so dedicated, nice and loving making sure that you have a good time and that also you understand everything and that’s great! How they’re open and disponible for everyone all the time.

As a first time solo traveler, I was a bit weary of the various programs I saw online. After months of research, however, I decided to give it a go and put my trust in IVHQ. I couldn't be more happy with that decision.

I felt safe and supported throughout the entire process. I was provided contacts in case I needed help once abroad and met some of the most genuinely amazing people along the way. My volunteer experience with the sea turtle project in Bali was truly eye opening, the orientation week allowed us to all be deeply immersed in the local culture and I was able to make several friends that I still stay in touch with. I recommend this program to anybody who is a little anxious of traveling alone. I am already scheduled for my next adventure through IVHQ and am excited to volunteer in Belize in 2020! I can't wait!

My name is Ruby and I'm from Australia. I recently spent 4 weeks volunteering on the teaching program in Bali with IVHQ. I cannot recommend IVHQ enough and it is indescribable how much my 4 weeks in Bali meant to me.

I met people from all over the world and shared some of the most enjoyable experiences of my life with these new friends. Each weekend we travelled all over Bali but were always happy to return home to our village life to relax by the pool, eat delicious home-cooked food and meet the new volunteers that had arrived.

Teaching in the village school was more difficult than I was expecting but all the more rewarding because of it. The children I met were so energetic and enthusiastic to learn that in returning to Australia I felt ever more appreciative of my own opportunities and education. Long after I left Bali I am motivated by the people I met there- The children who persisted with their worksheets whilst it was pouring down rain, the taxi drivers who demonstrated kindness to every person who entered their car, the staff at Green Lion who made sure every volunteer felt safe and all the like-minded friends I made.

This experience was the best of my life so far and I will definitely be travelling with IVHQ again. If you're thinking about going - JUST GO and go for as long as you possibly can. You won't regret it!
