About Program

Linguistic Horizons arranges customized internship placements abroad for university students and recent graduates. Through our Europe Internship Placement Program, we send interns to Germany, Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Other destinations, through our other programs, include Peru, Spain and New Zealand.

Internships are available in all fields. We arrange a customized placement based on each candidate's interests, career goals, and requirements.

Nicole helped me find an internship in my desired field, in my desired city, during my desired timelines. The company I was paired with gave me lots of flexibility over my archduke to arrange travel on long weekends. They also helped me grow and develop new skill sets. Nicole did a great job communicating and I felt supported. Awesome experience, and I highly recommend for anyone considering studying abroad/interning abroad. I would not have been able to find this internship myself, trust me I tried! Go see the world!

Yes, I recommend this program

Worth it

After months of searching, I was running out of time to find an internship abroad to meet my graduation requirements. Balancing full-time work, my studies, and internship applications (in a foreign language) gets overwhelming. I also couldn't even get a single response or get in touch with a real person. I'll admit I was reluctant about paying an agency to find a job for me but it was worth it.

Nicole and her team were able to make contact with real people for interviews for me when I couldn't get a single response. Plus, they found internships in the area I wanted to be in that met my unique job criteria and worked with my linjited French fluency. Most companies just offer cookie-cutter positions from their list of partner companies, but Lingo goes beyond that to find a position that is actually a good fit for you. She was so kind and helpful and everything worked out perfectly in the end.

Yes, I recommend this program

Life in the city of LOVE and LIGHT

Linguistic Horizons have done a good job in setting me up with an internship that matches my academic background. This is the first time I have travelled alone and lived in a foreign country.
Right from the start I felt welcomed into my architecture internship experience. The first day I jumped right into hands-on tasks and learning the ins and out about French Architecture. I have
learned a ton of skills that I'm now taking with me to look for a career.

What would you improve about this program?
Perhaps a cheaper price. I wasn't going to do this program because of the price and an unpaid internship. You should pay more attention to the accommodations for the people. Both accommodation and food should be included in program.
Do more research on the internships you provide.

I'm guessing you indicated 1 out of 10 for housing, fun and safety thinking this is the same as "NA"? This program does not provide housing or extracurricular activities.

Lily is from Ukraine. Also a Linguist and lover of travel, she speaks English, Russian and Ukrainian.

Living in the pearl of Ukraine, Odessa, Lily has hosted travelers from all over the world. Due to this great opportunity, she got to know Nicole Berry, a digital nomad and the Founder of Linguistic Horizons. Nicole and Lily became friends; and later, Lily started working with Linguistic Horizons.

Lily handles student inquiries and also arranges customized internship placements for our students around Europe.

What is your favorite travel memory?

The most memorable moment from my travels was a night I spent in an old Soviet prison in Lithuania! The best memories made have undoubtedly been with the people I have met during my journeys. I love it when I get the opportunity to spend several days with locals in their homes. It's a perfect way to see the place you are visiting through their eyes, get to know about its history, development, challenges and coping strategies, as well as outlooks for the future. Getting to know locals helps experience their way of living and touch their world. Live communication with locals is also a fantastic opportunity to make new friends. I look forward to traveling more and experiencing more exciting adventures!

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Since I work remotely and every process has its own deadline, I have to effectively manage my time and constantly improve necessary skills. It makes me disciplined. Especially when I travel and want to see something interesting in a new city, but at the same time have to allocate time for work.

I gradually developed the competence to deal with failures and be persistent. It's crucial to keep going and remember that failure is an essential part of the process and progress. I enjoy the opportunity to continue developing my language skills and expand my horizons, not only linguistic ones!

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

One of our internship participants was offered a full-time job by the company she interned through us with. Had she not had this internship, the opportunity to start her career with the company would not have been possible. Her life has changed not only professionally, but also personally. Having overcome the adversities of settling in a new culture and interning abroad, in a new language and culture, she now feels ready to handle any challenge. This made me feel happy about the work we are doing for students.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I love everything related to nature; so, I would be most interested in participating in the Nutrition and Natural Medicine program in Peru! Visiting South America and learning about their practices is definitely on my bucket list. Additionally, I am looking forward to one of our newest programs that have yet to be announced! Follow us to find out which one I mean!

I expect we'll go public with the new program opportunities in a couple of months.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Not only do we arrange customized internships, meeting all the students' search criteria as closely as possible, but we also offer life-changing language immersion programs. Seeing how happy our students are with their experiences and knowing that their internship will greatly impact their future, makes me very proud of our team. When we manage to arrange a very unique internship placement, a student could not have found on their own, I'm extra proud.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I would have to say the people. People are the heart of any company. A team made up of positive, open-minded and supportive colleagues will propel any business forward. Furthermore, when team members work collectively on something that can make an impact on other people, the company is destined to succeed.
