South Korea Internship

Overall, I had a great experience both with AIP and the country itself. Before coming to Korea, all of the people at the agency were supportive and they constantly kept in touch with me. The accommodation was clean and it was located fairly close to the office. I felt very welcomed at the company, everyone was friendly and I always was treated respectfully.
South Korea as a whole was a very nice country. People were respectful, the transportation was cheap and efficient, and the food was tasty.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
Manta ray beak.
People rarely eat it in Korea, but it's still a dish they serve in some restaurants. While stinky, it wasn't that bad as a whole flavor-wise.
Pros
  • Efficient transportation system
  • Safe streets
  • Tasty food
Cons
  • People cough and sneeze without covering their mouths
  • Weather can be either super warm or very cold
  • Seoul can be a bit expensive

A complete lifechanger!

The whole experience was great, from the beginning, the AIP staff was very helpful, they were very attentive and supportive pre-departure and already in Japan. The company in which I did my internship was great, they were seeking a professional with my exact profile so we matched very soon, moreover, I learned many things not only about the Japanese culture but about the job tasks I was doing, all the knowledge acquired has helped me back into my college. Furthermore, I recently signed a full-time job contract with the company due to my performance in the internship, so I totally recommend it!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
The cultural shock you experience at the beginning is huge. Almost everything is different, so you begin feeling that pressure. Nevertheless, to overcome it, you just have to accept it and open your mind to all those new things. Once you have done that, you begin to enjoy it and grow enormously. It is a complete life-changer.
Pros
  • Great good.
  • You learn something new everyday.
  • There is always something to do or discover.
Cons
  • It is not easy if you expect to do not work hard.
  • You will walk much.
  • The pressure at the beginning is much, but it is mostly something made up by your mind.

Learning on another level

My experience with AIP was great. The staff is very friendly and approachable. They booked my accommodation with great location with local food point and one of the top attractions in Bangkok. They helped me with my internship placement with an inclusive and creative company where I could enjoy learning experiences. I had the opportunity to learn new skills including communication, teamwork, networking, collaboration, planning and project execution. AIP was always there for to support me. I highly recommend AIP for overseas internships.

Internship in South Korea

I really enjoy and think that it was worth it deciding to do the internship with AIP through the University program. The staff from AIP, the workplace, CEO and my colleagues everyone are very helpful and always answer my questions when I needed. It was incredible that I have a chance to learn new cultures, try new food and especially I was so lucky to have a very kind CEO and colleagues who bought me a lot of food and drink during the time. They also bought me a tour in their city so I have a chance to spend time with my colleagues.

What was your funniest moment?
When I have a chance travelling around Goyang city not just in Seoul
Pros
  • Improve skills
  • Build up resume
  • Learning cultures and languages
Cons
  • Not have many chance to travel around
  • No chance to meet up with other interns

Bangkok, Thailand 2024 Summer Internship

Interns in Asia helped me secure an internship in Bangkok, and I couldn't have been more thrilled with the experience! From the moment I applied, their team was incredibly supportive and efficient in finding the perfect placement that matched my interests and career goals.

Being in Bangkok was a dream come true. The city's vibrant atmosphere, rich culture, and endless opportunities for professional growth made every day exciting. My internship not only allowed me to apply my skills in a real-world setting but also provided invaluable insights into the local business environment.

Interns in Asia didn't just connect me with an internship; they provided continuous support throughout my journey, ensuring I had the resources and guidance I needed to thrive. I met amazing people, expanded my professional network, and gained a deeper appreciation for Thai culture.

Overall, my experience with Interns in Asia was beyond fulfilling. I highly recommend their program to anyone looking to broaden their horizons and gain hands-on experience in an exciting global city like Bangkok. Thank you, Interns in Asia, for an unforgettable internship adventure

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
I would make sure to find an apartment closer to my work place and is near a lively environment to meet new people and make friends!

Highly recommended, would do this again!

I really appreciate AIP for helping source for internships and arranging for interviews with companies overseas. Their reach for companies in different countries were very appreciated. Landed an internship in Taiwan with their guidance and it has the best experience. They also guided us with our entire pre-departure process and was very responsive when we had any questions. Grateful for the opportunity and hope other fellow interns will find their way around the world with AIP’s help! Recommended!!

Seoul Creative Internship

Spent 6 weeks in Seoul, and I had no major issues with living conditions and host company. My workplace was a bit out of central Seoul and AIP was really good in finding an accommodation located in between that was close to the station and very conveniently next to 7/11 and lots of food options.

AIP was also very attentive and regularly checked up on me to see if everything was going well.

Really loved the host company I was sent to, a true testament of the connections AIP has. Definitely recommend.

Learning Experience

I attended a 6 week internship in South Korea and have learned a lot from my experience. It has taught me a great deal about myself and where I want to take my career. It is a really unique country with a lot to offer.

Special mention to the AIP support staff (Nisha, Kate and Herlyn, as well as Daisie). They helped me in getting the JEV vaccine while I am here. I have also managed to catch an illness here however they did an amazing job supporting me through the situation organising a clinic for me to go to and checking in on my health. I would have struggled greatly without this support.

AIP also did a really great job finding a company that suited what I had asked for, I have gained a lot of experience from senior developers (which I had specifically requested) and feel really ready for the rest of my career. Overall I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to push their career forward while also testing themselves on a personal level.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
It is going to really test your character. Try to socialize as much as you can. If there are locals at your work, make an effort to build relationships with them, it is more difficult but they are incredibly nice and helpful, it will give you a unique experience.
Pros
  • Company
  • Food / Cost of Living
  • Indepedence
Cons
  • Lonely

I had a great internship experience for three months in Bangkok, Thailand. The experience was seamless and smooth throughout the few months, from finding an internship role to the end of the internship period. AIP helped me to find a welcoming host company where I got to learn a lot. Felt safe and supported during my time here thanks to the availability of on-site support of the staff from AIP. Recommend this experience for anyone looking to do an internship and learn but travel at the same time.

Pros
  • Great culture
  • Friendly people
  • Bustling city
Cons
  • Hot and rainy

6 weeks in Singapore

I did a 6-week internship in Singapore through AIP. From long before I left home, they have been so supportive. The process of securing an internship means that you work closely with your case manager—Herlyn in my case—who is always responsive and reachable via email or WhatsApp. My package included accomodation which saved me a lot of time and money, especially due to the cost of living in Singapore.
The only thing that could be improved was the quality of the accommodation, but I understand that’s it’s difficult to tell when the photos on the hotel website look nicer than reality.
Overall, I highly recommend AIP if you want a caring and personalised service!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
Through AIP, you can meet many other people while in Singapore, all you have to do is ask your case manager to put you in touch! While I loved being surrounded by other interns and doing fun things as a group, remember to take time for yourself to explore the places you might enjoy the most, alone.
Pros
  • So much food and nice cafes.
  • Amazing cycling trails and islands to ferry to.
  • Great support in your internship from AIP.
Cons
  • Accomodation is expensive in SG so expect the bare minimum.
  • Often no kitchen, eating out is the norm.
  • Sometimes things seem reasonably priced but then they ++ tax and service fee
