Best 4 months of my life!

Thanks to TEAN, I had an absolutely amazing study abroad experience! I lived in an apartment inCoogee Beach, which is a suburb of Sydney. Coogee is a really cool town and has some nice bars and restaurants. It was a quick walk/bus ride to UNSW and a short bus ride into the city. It was an ideal location.

One of the things I like best about TEAN is the orientation. What better way to get acclimated to a new environment than to go on a scavenger hunt, try new foods, scale the harbor bridge, and cruise through the harbor? It was a great way to get to know the city (including the transportation systems) as well as the other people in the program. Not many other programs provide this opportunity.

The TEAN staff also made studying abroad that much better. From the moment I began planning my trip, TEAN staff helped me acquire course syllabi and figure out my financial situation. Once I was actually in Australia, TEAN staff members were excited to teach and orient me, and were happy to provide advice and assistance throughout the entire semester.

What would you improve about this program?
To be honest, TEAN is pretty expensive. A direct exchange would be a much cheaper option; however, TEAN includes a lot of awesome activities and support that you would miss out on. As expensive as it is, you certainly get your money's worth with TEAN.

TEAN absolutely made my Australia experience!!

My experience in Sydney in the Spring of 2012 would not have been the same if I had not gone through TEAN. We lived in the Tiffany Tower in Bondi Junction which was convenient to everything in Sydney because we lived right above the Junction bus & train station and right next to the huge Westfield that would have everything you could ever need. We were a short bus ride from the amazing Bondi Beach which was so great and only about 20 minutes from UNSW campus. I have never felt as safe in an area I have lived in. I absolutely loved the nightlife and took full advantage of it. The best part of my experience was traveling and TEAN made that so easy. I went on their organized trips to Cairns as a pre-trip and Thailand for spring break. From Thailand I extended for 5 days to go to Hong Kong. During study break I went on a Contiki tour to New Zealand and after exams were over I met my family in Japan for two weeks. These were by far the best 5 months of my life and I can't thank TEAN enough for making that possible.

What would you improve about this program?
If there was one thing I could change would be that tuition wasn't so inflated by the program. THe full program is very expensive but overall I believe you are getting a lot of your money.

Best experience of my life!

I had the most amazing experience studying abroad with TEAN. They prepare you so much before you leave and are also amazing resources while in Sydney. The housing is beautiful and the TEAN trips- both the orientation pre-trip and the spring break trip to Thailand- were things that I will never forget. I highly recommend TEAN!

Life-Changing

I had the most unbelievable time in Sydney, Australia and a lot of that had to do with TEAN. They set everything up right from the beginning so that you're never stressed or confused. Starting with pre-trip jitters they answer every question you may have, make sure everything is done quickly and efficiently, and they create bonds with their students to make sure they feel comfortable and that they have the best experience possible. As soon as you get off the plane the staff is waiting to take you to a five star hotel where you have an unforgettable orientation for the next 4 days. You do so many incredible things in the first few days that you forget about missing family and friends, there is hardly any jet lag, and it is just a glimpse of what the rest of your semester will be like. Everything from housing arrangements to customer service is top notch with TEAN and there is no better study abroad program than them.

You could live in a hotel for five months with the most breathtaking views of all of downtown Sydney including the entire Harbor, what could be better than that? I've experienced it and I'm telling you there isn't anything better. It has changed my whole perspective on life, you will come home a more experienced, well-rounded person who appreciates what life has to offer.

What would you improve about this program?
I love the way TEAN runs everything, they're so organized and helpful. They don't have to change a thing in my book but they truly listen to their students feedback and find ways to make your experience even better than originally planned.

The Best Five Months You'll Ever Have

Studying abroad through TEAN was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The TEAN Orientation was an experience in itself and was perfect for getting us familiar with Sydney. I lived in Bondi Junction and could look out my kitchen window and see the Opera House and the Sydney Harbor Bridge. It doesn't get much better than that! The TEAN staff was always available if we needed anything or had any questions. TEAN also organizes pre-semester and mid-semester trips which were both amazing! I went on the Cairns pre-semester trip and the Thailand mid-semester trip. Studying abroad is an experience you can't turn down and I would do it again through TEAN in a heart beat.

The Trip of a Lifetime with TEAN!!

This program is an opportunity that you can not afford to pass up! The Education Abroad Network takes care of you from the moment you enter the country till the moment you leave. School was a little intimidating for me because I had heard that it was drastically different than American teaching and sure enough it was. But what really helped was that before school started, you attended an orientation with other people that were going to that same school from TEAN. They showed you what classes you were signed up for, how to change them, the major buildings on campus and where the study abroad office was. It was really helpful since I had to change my schedule and I could only do it in person. I went to the University of Sydney which has 50,000 people. I chose that school because my home university has 52,000 people and I wanted to feel like I was at home! It was a great experience and I met many Australians in my classes because of group projects and homework assignments and I still talk to a couple of them!! It was so comforting to know that Study Australia had everything set up for you including housing, orientation, and academics. Although they had them set up for you, you had the power throughout the semester to do anything you wanted!! I traveled to Cains and Byron Bay on the pre-semester trip and to Melbourne on a weekend trip with my roommates. I also went to New Zealand during spring break!! I can honestly say that you will never want to leave this beautiful country!! This is a trip of a lifetime and I am forever grateful to Study Australia for making it a trip that was worry free and one that I will never forget!!

My Aussie Experience

TEAN was fabulous. They helped us from the very beginning--before we arrived, as soon as we arrived, during our study abroad experience, and after! The orientation program was a great opportunity for all of us in the program to get adjusted to the Aussie life before uni started. Once uni started, they were there if we ever had questions. I had the best four months of my life in Australia and I plan to move there after I graduate!
