Get TEFL Certified & Teach English Abroad with International TEFL Academy

For me, this course was exactly what I needed. I had never created a lesson plan and I have zero experience teaching in a classroom. This course challenged me on a weekly basis and forced me out of my comfort zone which was exactly what I needed. What I can do, where I can go and how I want to live is now limitless with my TEFL Certificate. I plan to use my TEFL Certificate to teach Business English to adults for a private company in Italy. Until I am ready to move, I plan on teaching Business English online while here in the states once I complete both the supplemental Online Teaching course and the Teaching Business English course online with the International TEFL Academy.

Half of this course emphasizes the differences in teaching methods and approaches. Toward the second you will see that it only focuses on one method and pattern of lesson creation. Didn't really need those first 5 chapters. Cut the course in half. Cut the price half. I'm confident I'll get my money's worth out of it though.

It's the real deal. If you want to become a EFL teacher, this course is exactly what you're looking for, and your safest bet to accomplish what I wanted to accomplish, which is to go on an adventure around the world teaching English.

Overall, I found that the foundation of this course was very easy to follow and was very effective in my learning experience. The resources, the people, and the platform were just all too wonderful! I wish it was this nice at the University I attend too! When taking my TEFL course and completing the practicum, I thought it was something a little "off" for me to do, but when I finally found an opportunity to teach, I had a blast! I really wish I was able to talk more to my peers, but I think that given the circumstances, we all did really well together!

I enjoyed taking this course. This course made me learn English all over again. I was surprised by how much knowledge was there to teach us. This is just the first step for me to actually do what I love to do is to teach and travel. What better way to do so! I really enjoyed my instructor who was always helpful as well as my classmates if I needed help! Overall, this course will prepare you to teach overseas and especially once you get done with your practicum hours you will be set and ready!!!!

This TEFL course was a very challenging experience for me, but I totally enjoyed it. The knowledge and skills I have picked up I have now introduced into my current teaching job with adult learners in the community sector. The results have been excellent, especially among my culturally diverse students.
I now rearrange the classroom for group activities and have found the students to be more engaging and receptive and it has made a huge difference especially for my night groups as they are more alert and interractive. The assessment results have improved greatly for these students.
I am looking forward to going overseas and putting the skills and knowledge into practice, hopefully I will be as effective there as I have been here. We have not as yet decided which country we will be going to, but it will be in Europe somewhere.
I can recommend this course to anyone wanting to teach ESL.

This is my first time to take and finish an online course.And I can say that it was fun, educational and most of all challenging. It has been challenging because of my time schedule. Everyday I look forward on how to take the lessons and complete the quiz and tasks each week while going to work at the same time.And I am truly happy that finally I completed all the whole course.I can't wait for my next journey after the course. More power to all the TEFL Academy team from all over the world. Thank you for this wonderful experience. I will continue to review all the lessons and will try my best to improve my lessons plans for my future students. I am looking forward to meet and work with some of the people who are part of TEFL Academy and also to travel the world.

Overall, the course was extremely helpful and very thorough. I am a business major and work in the marketing field. I graduated college 7 years ago and have worked in two different jobs as a marketing director so teaching is not something in my background or my area of expertise. As someone brand new to teaching, this course really explores all areas of teaching English as a foreign language (I know there are plenty of other things to learn as a general teacher in a school). I feel very prepared to move abroad and begin teaching in a language school. I am ready to write lesson plans and I think will be able to bring my life experiences into the classroom which will be helpful rather than hurtful. One of the most eye opening things for me was the idea of student centered classrooms. In traditional school environments, the teachers did most of the talking and led lecture based classes so I have never really experienced a student centered classroom but this makes so much sense for a language environment. If the students aren't speaking, then most likely they aren't learning.

I completed the online class, and found it very capable of having a working schedule during the day and still be able to complete my course load. I loved my teacher Kristin Jones! I feel very confident in my lesson plan writing skills, and ability to teach a class full of students that may have never experienced the English language. Grateful to ITA for their course! The online webinars really helped with completing the final project as well as understanding the material. I have not used the job finder help yet, but they have already reached out to me and want me to succeed in finding a job! I suggest that students interested should invest in buying the grammar book as well as the textbook in hardcopy. I used them routinely throughout my course and fully intend on using it as I teach.
