I would recommend ITA to anyone; particularly, if you want to earn your TEFL while working full-time. The workload is manageable and insightful. The lesson planning assignments were helpful and my tutor, Wayne Walker, gave me great feedback. The best part of ITA is the support from staff. They are always available via email or phone to answer questions, give advice, and discuss your concerns. They were incredibly helpful and kind and reassuring during what can be an uncertain and stressful process. Take advantage of the job search guidance materials, alumni interviews, and free webinars.

I would highly suggest getting TEFL certified through ITA! The assistance from the staff before, during, and after my class was always helpful and professional. I received comments and feedback on my resume geared at TEFL jobs abroad. The comments on my resume were very helpful and helped me get many interviews here in Costa Rica. I just completed my 11-week online TEFL certification through the International TEFL Academy and now feel fully prepared to teach English abroad. To be transparent, you have to work hard throughout the course, give yourself plenty of time throughout the week to study the course materials, plan lessons, and take weekly quizzes! This will not be a breeze for all! I will say, as long as you are willing to reach out to your course instructor and fellow classmates for questions you have, they will be of great assistance with anything you are struggling through. I personally had no prior teaching experience and had no formal classes related to teaching English before taking this course. I can confidently say now that I am prepared to move abroad with my certification and ready to start my teaching career. The International TEFL Academy requires you to observe ESL classes and to choose tutoring or small group classes during your Practicum to get you accustomed to teaching English in the future. I believe this is what sets them apart from other TEFL certification programs. Getting my certification through ITA has been worth every cent! Please look them up for more information and they will help you with any questions you may have.

I was blown away by this program. It came to me at a proper time in my life and has open a door that ables me to follow my dreams of traveling. This program gave me the confidence I need to enter a classroom on my own. My teacher helped me to be as successful as I can be and my advisor helped me navigate the system to reach completion. I have never been more excited, prepared, or proud in my entire life. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the opportunity the International TEFL Academy has given me.

I thought I was purchasing an online course but what I actually received was a life change. I did the ITA online course 2 years ago and because of it I was able to get a job in one of the most fascinating places on Earth (at least to me) - Siberia! The online course was highly organised; expectations and timelines were clearly established at the start of the course and timely support was always available from ITA teaching and support staff. Since I was actually in a teaching job while I was doing the course, I was able to put what I was learning into practice immediately, which helped boost my confidence and the quality of my lessons, for which I’m sure my students are still grateful. The team also helped me immeasurably in preparing my resume for my job search. I had a lot of experience with corporate resumes but absolute none with this industry and I’d probably still be looking for a job if I hadn’t had their help. They provided tonnes of information to help with my job search, although my interest ended up going in a direction where they didn’t yet have much information, which isn’t their fault; they actually have a huge amount of information on most regions. I now happily live and work in beautiful and fascinating Eastern Siberia. Sometimes I feel as if my life is a dream because I never before in my life had such constant happiness. Doing the online certification course with ITA literally changed my life. All in all, my experience with ITA has been 100% positive and I highly encourage anyone who is interested in being a travelling English teacher to enroll in an ITA course without delay!

I just completed my online course with International TEFL Academy. To be honest, the course was more in-depth than I was expecting (which is a good thing, in my opinion). I have never taken an online course of any kind before, so I was a little worried about managing everything. The website/student portal was very easy to navigate. Even though I’m not the best at time management, I feel like the reading assignments and projects were spaced out well so I had enough time to complete the tasks each week while also working at my job. The student affairs reps were very helpful- I was feeling a bit discouraged in the middle of the course and one of them explained that this is normal and it will all make sense and come together when I’m in the classroom. Looking forward to my practicum and the adventures that are to come!

I really enjoyed my experience taking a TEFL certification course through ITA. I thought the course was really well thought out and executed. I really enjoyed the interactive online textbook with videos and links to other websites to help explain and demonstrate the concepts in each chapter. I also really enjoyed my practicum experience and how ITA set up that portion of the course. Throughout the entire course experience I felt supported and knew where to go to find answers to my questions. I truly feel like the ITA course has provided me with the knowledge and skills needed to become a successful English teacher. I am in the process of looking for a job and am very grateful for all of the resources provided to me by ITA.

I have really enjoyed my time so far with ITA. When looking for a program for TEFL certification, I always found tons of information and articles from ITA. I knew that they would be one of the programs I would choose from. When I requested a brochure and talked to an admissions advisor, I was hooked. I really enjoyed the way they marketed the program on social media and how they designed everything. I also enjoy talking to other ITA alumni in the Facebook pages in the country that I want to teach in. My advisor was really helpful with everything. Buying the course and signing up for a class was really easy. The class wasn't too difficult and the information was helpful. I finished the online portion and am now looking for a practicum site in my hometown. I cannot wait to earn my certification and go through the visa/passport and find a school and teach and travel abroad!
