Empowering and Practical TESOL Training Experience

I had an excellent experience completing the 120-hour TESOL/TEFL course with World TESOL Academy. The course was well-structured and easy to follow, combining clear explanations with practical strategies that I can immediately apply in the classroom. The modules on lesson planning, motivation, and testing were especially valuable, and the resources, examples, and interactive activities made learning engaging and effective. The instructors were knowledgeable, supportive, and always available to provide guidance and feedback. Overall, this course has strengthened my teaching skills, boosted my confidence, and provided me with tools to succeed as an English teacher.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
If I could do this all over again, I would dedicate even more time to practicing the dynamic teaching activities, as they really helped me gain confidence in applying what I learned. One fun and unique experience from the program was creating and leading a mini role-play lesson with my peers. It was both challenging and incredibly enjoyable to see everyone get involved and to practice using English in real-life scenarios, which made the learning feel very practical and memorable.
Pros
  • The course is very comprehensive, covering all aspects of teaching English, from grammar to dynamic classroom activities.
  • Practical exercises like role-plays and concept checking questions help build confidence and prepare you for real classroom scenarios.
  • Flexible online format allows you to complete the program at your own pace while balancing other responsibilities.
Cons
  • Some modules could include more interactive examples or live demonstrations to enhance understanding of certain teaching techniques.
  • At times, certain sections feel detailed, but this ensures a thorough understanding of the material.
  • A few theoretical sections could be slightly condensed, which would make the learning experience even more streamlined.

Very good stuff

The course was a valuable and well-structured experience for anyone who wants to start or improve in teaching English. From the beginning, it was clear that the content was designed with real classroom practice in mind, not just theory. That makes each topic feel practical and immediately applicable.

One of the strongest points was the section about classroom management. I realized how important small details are, such as the way students are seated, how the teacher uses space, and even the tone of voice. The different seating arrangements (rows, horseshoe, groups) were explained clearly, and it made sense that each one serves a different purpose: the horseshoe encourages discussion, rows are good for exams or direct explanations, and groups are perfect for teamwork activities. Honestly, I hadn’t thought much about how big an impact seating can have, but after this course I see it differently.

Another very useful part was the focus on effective praise. The course emphasizes that praise is not just saying “good job” but being specific, positive, and directed to each student’s effort or achievement. This kind of feedback not only motivates students but also builds their confidence. For me, this lesson stood out because it’s something we sometimes overlook in teaching, yet it can completely change the atmosphere in a classroom.

The course also made it clear which student behaviors should be discouraged. Things like bullying, using phones or toys, or constantly speaking in their native language create barriers to learning. But at the same time, I liked that the course highlighted what should not be discouraged: students asking questions or trying to answer even if they are unsure. These moments are essential for learning a language, and it’s the teacher’s role to make students feel safe enough to take those risks.

When it comes to teaching methods, the course shows that there isn’t just one “right” way to teach. It depends on the goal of the lesson, the level of the students, and even the energy of the class. Still, the course gives a strong framework: mix explanation, guided practice, and free practice, while adding creativity and adaptation to the students’ needs. That balance is what makes a lesson both structured and engaging.

Personally, the most challenging part was the final quiz. Even after reviewing all the material, I noticed there were small details I had missed. That showed me that I still need to internalize some concepts better. But at the same time, the quiz gave me useful feedback to see where I’m strong and where I should improve.

Overall, I think the course was practical, clear, and motivating. It didn’t just give abstract ideas, but strategies I can actually use in a classroom. It reminded me that teaching is not only about delivering content, but also about managing people, encouraging them, and creating the right environment for learning. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to become a more effective teacher.

Amazing Program

I would like to sincerely express my heartfelt gratitude to World TESOL Academy for providing such a wonderful, insightful, and well-designed TESOL/TEFL course.

The 120-hour TESOL/TEFL course I completed was an enriching experience that exceeded my expectations. The course materials were not only comprehensive but also presented in a clear, structured, and easy-to-follow manner. Each module was carefully designed to cover essential aspects of teaching English to speakers of other languages, from lesson planning and classroom management to practical teaching strategies and methodologies. The straightforward explanations made even complex concepts easy to grasp, and I truly appreciated how the course built up my confidence step by step.

This program has broadened my knowledge, strengthened my teaching skills, and given me valuable insights into the world of English language teaching. I am especially thankful for the flexibility of the course, which allowed me to learn at my own pace while still engaging with the content in a meaningful and practical way.

I am truly grateful for this learning opportunity and the support of World TESOL Academy in helping me take a significant step forward in my teaching journey. I would highly recommend this course to all aspiring teachers, educators, or anyone passionate about sharing the English language with learners around the world. Useful program

For me it started with doubt after so many people on youtube and other websites tried to diminish the value of this program. Looking at so many TESOL websites putting in all the effort ganging up against World Tesol Academy made me doubt their motives and made my decision more stronger to enroll and go ahead with the TESOL course from World Tesol Academy. I would like to say that I do not regret my decision and completely recommend this course to anyone who needs a TESOL certificate to teach but cannot go for a physical course. There are definitely other TESOL Certificate programs which offer more in depth courses but you need to choose the one which suites your requirements.
The World Tesol Academy surely offers a TESOL program that caters to people who are working and have less time to dedicate in a physical course. If you are a student I would suggest a physical course. Overall the website was very smooth without glitches and the content was quite good in order to prepare you for your teaching. It covered most of the topics needed to help you in your teaching experience. Even the Certificate looks professional. I am yet to use the Certificate for employment but once I do I will write some more regarding my experience. Until then a big thumbs up to Wold Tesol Academy. Thank you for this affordable course.

What would you improve about this program?
It needs to be advertised some more and reach some more people.
Pros
  • very clean and neat software
  • easy to understand with clear sentence framing
  • Good grammar follow up

MY AMAZING EXPERIENCE WITH THE TESOL/TEFL TRAINING

I am excited to share a review of my experience with the 120-hour TESOL/TEFL Certification I just received by the World TESOL Academy.

I was initially reluctant to take the course because I thought it would be beneficial to English Teachers only. However, when I went through the course content using the 'Reading for Detail' method, I knew it would be beneficial to all educators, regardless of the subject they teach.

The course is filled with rich contents that enlighten educators of the diverse ways to teach English as a foreign language or teach (in) English Language to speakers of other languages.

While many aspects of the modules are not entirely new to me, which I have learnt and used throughout my journey as an educator for over a decade, I found them not only enlightening but also refreshing.

It comprises eight (8) modules, where the eighth module is the final exam.

I enjoyed all seven modules. The seven modules are listed with a brief explanation of each module according to how much I enjoyed them (the one enjoyed the most comes first):
Module 5: Preparing for lessons – Here, I was refreshed on how to plan effective 60-minute lessons using different styles of lesson plans (PPT, TTT and TBL), how to adapt my lessons for different environments (age, culture, purpose and learning type), and how to make my lessons fun and engaging, using Warmers, Fillers and Coolers.

Module 6: Classroom Management – This module is particularly important because, if your classroom is not well-managed nearly everything you’ve worked on in module 5 will be thrown into the bin. In this module, I re-learnt: the ways in which I can manage my classroom to create a positive learning environment (using classroom variables), ways to set rules and keep things orderly in my class, how to keep students interested in my lessons (using motivation), and approaches to testing whether my students are truly learning (using formal assessments and dynamic approaches).

Module 7: Teaching English Online – I also found this module enlightening because, in addition to being an onsite educator, I’m also an online educator with over five years’ experience and I have presented students for international exams (11-Plus, GCSE and A-levels) for 3 consecutive years with a 100% success rate till date.

In the module, I re-learnt how teaching online works and what you’ll need to prepare, how to set up my classroom for teaching English online; the different techniques and skills needed for tutoring (props, techniques, and motivation); what demo classes are and how to deliver them.

While the remaining four modules are particularly for teachers of English Language, they are also very important as they help to improve other teachers’ skills at reading, listening, speaking and other forms of communication, which in turn, will help their leaners learn better.

Module 4: Language Skills – This involves how to make students learn vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking and listening skills

Module 3: Tenses and Sentence Structures – This module teaches details, the basic tenses in English Language (Past, Present and Future). It further splits each of the basic tenses into four categories: Simple, Continuous, Perfect and Perfect Continuous.

I also re-learnt the various types of sentences (simple, compound, complex and compound-complex) and conditional sentences.

Module 2: Words and Punctuation – In this module, I learnt the different types of words, how words and constructed, and how punctuation is used in English language.

Module 1: Introduction – This module defines the TESOL/TEFL certification, the importance of taking the course, summary of the course content, career opportunities for certified educators, teaching destinations (where the job market was roughly broken down into upper-tier, mid-tier and lower tier), and class types available for educators (Kindergartens, Public Schools, Cram Schools, Universities, Business Classes and Private Tuition).

In conclusion, going for the 120-hour TESOL/TEFL Certification by the World TESOL Academy is essential as it has helped me to hone my skills as an experienced onsite and online educator and I am sure I have become much better than who I was before taking the course.

Indeed, you are as good as the quality of information you have.

I will strongly recommend the course to anyone who is interested in polishing his/her career as an educator, regardless of the subject he/she teaches.

Thank you for reading till the end.

What was your funniest moment?
When I realized that the correct way of explaining something that was formerly frozen is 'defrost'.
Pros
  • Learning Preparing for lessons
  • Learning new ideas in classroom management
  • Learning new ideas in online teaching
Cons
  • Too many words to learn under Affixes
  • The Phonetics part was boring and too technical to fully comprehend
  • Conditional statements, especially 2nd and third conditional were not comprehensively explained and may be challenging to new learners of English language

The content was clear, practical, and very well-structured, covering everything from lesson planning and classroom management to teaching grammar, vocabulary, and skills. The interactive activities and real-life examples made the material easy to understand and apply.

I especially appreciated how the course emphasized student-centered teaching and provided lots of practical strategies I can use immediately in the classroom. The assignments encouraged me to reflect and grow as a teacher, and the feedback was always constructive and encouraging.

Overall, this course gave me the confidence and tools I need to teach English effectively. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to start or develop their career in teaching English as a second language.

Practical, Flexible, and Worth It

Completing the TESOL certification was a rewarding experience. The course was well-structured, with lessons that were easy to follow and practical to apply in real teaching situations. I especially appreciated the flexibility—it allowed me to study at my own pace while still feeling supported by the program. The materials were comprehensive, covering everything from classroom strategies to cultural awareness, which really boosted my confidence to teach English internationally.

For anyone considering TESOL, I would highly recommend this program. It provides both the knowledge and the practical tools you’ll need, whether your goal is to teach abroad or online.

What would you improve about this program?
The program was overall excellent, but I think it could be improved by adding more interactive activities such as live practice sessions or peer discussions. While the modules were clear and thorough, having more opportunities to apply the lessons in real-time would make the experience even more engaging.
Pros
  • Flexible schedule that made it easy to balance with other commitments.
  • Comprehensive course materials covering both theory and practical teaching methods.
  • Supportive and responsive staff whenever I had questions.
Cons
  • Mostly self-paced — adding optional live sessions could make it even better.
  • Reading materials were strong — a few more video examples would be a nice bonus.
  • Platform worked well overall — smoother navigation features could enhance the experience.

Teaching English as a second language

The program was easy to complete, and served as an overview in the process of teaching English as a second language. The lessons were easy and quick to finish. Given that I am a teacher already, many points in the course were redundant for me, but they can be helpful for beginner teachers, particularly the section on teaching online. The videos also provided examples of real-life application of the concepts learned on each lesson, facilitating learning. Overall, it was a good course, easy and quick to finish.
