My TESOL/TEFL Course Experience

I didn’t expect the TESOL/TEFL course to make such a real difference for me, but honestly, it was better than I hoped. Right from the start, the materials felt practical and focused on real teaching—not just theories you quickly forget. I learned about a variety of teaching methods, and what stood out was how clear and relatable everything was. The course doesn’t just give you ideas; it shows you exactly how to use them and why they matter in actual lessons.

What I really appreciated is that most of the content is genuinely useful. There are resources, examples, and tips I know I’ll return to again and again, especially when I begin applying for teaching jobs. The advice about how to get started in the field, where to find positions, and what employers really look for was probably the most valuable part—it felt like someone was actually guiding me, not just lecturing.

One of the best things is that the tutors are always ready to answer any questions or help out if you need them (although, in my case, I didn’t have any questions because the course is written in such a clear and understandable way). This made the experience feel supportive and accessible.

I don’t just feel more knowledgeable—I actually feel ready and excited to take the next step and teach abroad.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
If I did this all over again, one thing I would change is that I wish I had taken this course earlier. It would have saved me a lot of time and helped me feel more confident sooner. Also, I think it would be great if there was even more detailed information about how to promote yourself and where to find students. Having more guidance on that part would make starting a teaching career smoother and more effective.

The Best Decision I Could Have Made In 2025

I graduated from the university last year 2024, and shortly after, I began writing a fictional book, but a part of me yearned to earn a living online doing something I enjoy. I have always loved children. I spent the most time recently with my friend and her 13-year-old daughter, and I enjoyed watching her interact with the English Language, helping her with phrases and clauses, and listening to a poem she composed for her English assignments. This planted a desire in me to teach the younger generation about English from my unique viewpoint. Then, my friend recommended the 120-Hour TESOL/TEFL course from World TESOL Academy. When I began the course, the interface was seamless, making it easy to navigate the course content. The method of explanation was also straightforward. I also frankly enjoyed watching the videos of the teachers interacting with their students. They were immersive, like I was in the class with them. I was also able to come up with a few ideas of my own on how to approach my own classes. The quizzes in each section of the modules also motivated me to stay focused on learning. I am grateful that I took this course, and I will recommend it to my friends and anyone interested in starting a career as an English teacher. Thank you, World TESOL Academy, for putting this together. I will make the best possible use of my certificate.

Teaching

It was a great experience. It taught me how to be patient, and the tutors were helpful.

I hope to travel overseas and teach people, and make friends. I think that it was really fun taking this course. I am going to be the best tutor one day on a big platform. I am planning to pursue other certificates if God wills.

It was both stressing and fun. When I become a tutor, I will try to connect with you guys and tell you about my achievements. Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity. Always grateful for this experience.

TESOL/TEFL Certificate

Wow!!!

I am still amazed at how fast I've managed to complete my TESOL/TEFL Certificate in just 2 weeks. All because of how straight forward and helpful their tutors are. I would recommend anybody to try it out. And best of they are internationally accredited.

Just from starting I managed to convince my friend to join because I sent her my progress everyday and it motivated her to register and start her journey too.

Thank you World TESOL Academy for giving me the platform to learn and change my future🌍❤️.

Teaching English online

Taking this course will give you the basic understanding and refresher course in the English Language. This course was easy to understand and get from one lesson to the next. I would recommend this to my friends and family. One benefit of being able to teach online will provide a world of experience for myself and my family and also gaining employment as a teacher in another country will provide world life experiences for myself and my children. Teaching English in the home country of the student will be a vital tool for children to build relationships with me as their teacher. I am looking forward to this wonderful opportunity that this will provide.

What was your funniest moment?
A funny moment while taking the course was to see that I could use props to teach and one day as I was practicing a lesson I had a wig on and funny clothes and my children thought I was trying to be a clown as a job and then they understood that it was for the program and that other children will find it funny and will want to learn English.
Pros
  • Remote work anywhere in the world
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Wider student reach
Cons
  • Technical difficulties
  • work-life balance
  • social isolation

Not very engaging

For someone with ADHD, this program becomes rather repetitive and boring. This program is mostly about reading. You read the lesson, you may have a video showcasing something that was taught, then take a quiz. It is not very engaging or innovative.

It might also not be very accessible for blind people as there is no option for text-to-speech built in. Overall, it is a well-built course.

Good experience

The course is well-structured, combining theoretical knowledge with practical teaching strategies. Modules cover lesson planning, classroom management, language skills, and teaching methodologies, making it suitable for beginners and those with some prior experience.

The online format is flexible, allowing me to learn at my own pace while still receiving feedback from experienced instructors. I particularly appreciated the practical assignments, which helped me apply concepts directly to lesson planning and teaching scenarios.
