My entire experience during this course was incredibly worthwhile. I got to refresh all my knowledge about the English language, from the simplest concepts that are easily forgotten or neglected to the most complex rules that should always be remembered and applied. The training is packed with comprehensive information that will truly prepare one to be well-equipped in teaching English to any type of learner, encompassing proven techniques, varied activities, and methods that cater to whatever scenario might be faced in a class. The sample video also gives a simulation feeling, empathizing the teacher-student interaction. I like how the sequence of topics is laid out, along with the end quiz in every module to assess understanding, and how the program explains educational jargon in the easiest way possible, making it accessible to newbies. Plus, the tutors are supportive and accommodating whenever there are unanswered questions, especially since this is a self-paced class. I'm also grateful and proud to have passed and achieved my TESOL/TFEL certification – it's another accomplished goal for me.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?

When I enrolled in this course, I set a goal for myself to finish everything in just a week, so I could maximize my time and not let any opportunities pass. However, I failed to do so, and it took me almost a month and a half to complete it. Despite this, I'm glad that I scored perfectly on all my quizzes, although I only got 95% on the final test – something I could have done better on. If I were to repeat it, I'd aim for a perfect score next time. Nevertheless, I'm already satisfied and happy because I spent a meaningful month learning everything in this academy.

The course covers most aspects about becoming an excellent ESL Teacher. It has all the ground work and can serve as a foundation to build upon through experience. Being an experienced teacher, I learn't new techniques and fun ways to implement them in my classes. The course is organized well and doesnt get boring. Four months is plenty of time to complete the course and the best part is that instructors can be contacted and help you get through. As one progresses along and gains hands on experience as a teacher, the limit lies beyond the skies when it comes to implementing and modifying ways to teach your class using the techniques learnt in the course. Happy Teaching!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

Try and be consistent in doing the course in order to complete it and also, try and implement what you learn in real life scenarios; this helps.

I’ve never bought a course before, this first course was totally excellent, easy to use, easy to read and learn.
There are a lot of things that you might know, but in this course, you can perfect your teaching and learning skills and knowledge.

I learned a lot of things that I should know before to start giving English lesson, online or in a classroom, even though I am planing to have another course that this platform is offering, I’m not a English native speaker, but I know and I feel that I can give English lessons oversea, after this course.

This course gives me a clear and overall outline of teaching. I also get lots of good ideas that can be applied in my teaching. It would be better if more real teaching cases could be shared, especially in online teaching. I believe that this certificate will greatly boost my future job hunting, and I would definitely recommend it to my friends.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

Going into my experience teaching English as a foreign language overseas, my biggest fear was not being able to effectively connect with and engage my students due to language barriers and cultural differences. I worried that my limited experience in new cultural settings might make it challenging to communicate and build rapport.

I overcame this fear by investing time in learning about the local culture and customs, actively seeking feedback from students and colleagues, and adapting my teaching methods to better suit their needs. As I gained more experience and confidence, I realized that being flexible and open to learning from my students greatly enhanced my teaching effectiveness. My views on the issue evolved as I understood that building relationships and understanding local contexts are key to successful teaching abroad.
