Amazing experience

AIP gave me the opportunity to have an internship in Bangkok. They were very supportive throughout the whole process and even continued to stay in touch throughout my time there. The internship opportunity was exactly what I was looking for as it pertained to what I wanted to do in the future. It gave me hands on experience and gave me the confidence for when that time comes. I highly recommend AIP if you are interested in an internship abroad. Not only do you gain experience but you can travel.

Working at a startup

I got to work at a very cool startup. My CEO and Co-workers were extremely cool and welcoming. They treated me like family since the first day and really took care of me, sharing their culture and also creating an environment for me to learn and grow.

I was included in almost all activities, and being in such a close-knit team really opened my eyes, and I got to be part of big decisions like being included in meetings with investors, product renewals, and even inbound interviews!

It was a great experience overall. I would like to thank Seth, my account manager, for really understanding what I was looking for and getting me this opportunity at this great company.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Doing offline sales in Korean, I was never good with the Korean language and not confident either. But the pressure to conform and perform well, I forced myself to be a different person and sit with the uncomfortability and try selling in Korean. This experience made me realize that I could do things that I did not realize I could do, thanks to my lovely company that I was interning at.
Pros
  • Get familiar with high pressure environment
  • Explore various areas
  • Getting the chance to work at a cool startup
Cons
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Some culture shock

Great Experience in South Korea

I had a great experience in Seoul these past few months thanks to AIP. I interned for five months at a marketing company right outside of Seoul, South Korea. I had a great supervisor and I got to work on so many cool projects and videos, collaborating with other teams in the company as well. My language skills improved a lot and made unforgettable connections with my Korean coworkers as well. I will miss the food and the people dearly, thank you Herlyn and Kate so much for this amazing opportunity!

Great experience in Seoul

I was so happy with my internship experience that I decided to extend my programme for other 6 months! I'm deeply satisfied with my job, I wanted to try something different and more creative than what I was doing in Italy and I feel that I've found my place. My teamleader and my colleague are really nice and supportive and they have always made me feel welcomed and part of the company.

I'm really thankful to AIP as well because they have always supported me a lot not only at the beginning when searching for a hosting company but even for all the 6 months that I've spent in Seoul. Luckily everything went smoothly, but when I needed their help they were quick in finding a solution to my problem. Moreover, they kept cheking on me periodically. Highly recommended!

I think that an internship abroad is a great opportunity of growth, both professional and personal. During this experience I was lucky to find a lot of new great friends with whom sharing amazing memories and discovering new places. Seoul is definitely full of fun activities to do, it has a special spot in my heart!

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
For those who are in doubt if trying this experience or not because they're shy like me, I definitely suggest to apply! It was a great opportunity to go outside my comfort zone at my pace and to meet such amazing new friends. Plus, it allows you to find out if the job you're doing in your internship really fits you.

AIP's Incredible Support

As this was my first time both traveling and doing an internship abroad, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience — and AIP was an incredible support system throughout the entire journey!

At first, the process of securing an international internship felt intimidating and overwhelming. Especially as a freshmen in college. But from the very beginning, AIP made everything feel simple and manageable.

I want to give a huge thank you to Herlyn, who guided me every step of the way. She was always available to answer my questions, kept me informed, and made sure I felt confident throughout the process. Even after I arrived in Korea, Herlyn continued to check in on me and ensured I was settling in comfortably. I even got the chance to meet her in person, and she was just as kind and helpful as she had been virtually.

Thanks to AIP this entire experience has been smooth, exciting, and incredibly rewarding. I’m so grateful for their support in making this internship abroad such a positive and unforgettable adventure~

Highly recommend giving them a chance!

Best Internship experience!

Getting AIP to help me find this internship was the best decision I could have made. It was super easy and they helped me with everything! Nisha set up my Interview and was present throughout the whole process up until my departure to South Korea! After arriving Kate and Herlyn helped me settle in comfortably and answered all my questions from there. They would support me and also gave recommendations on what to do during my freetime (If you haven't planned anything). I felt very comfortable and I wasn't alone during the process! :))

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?
Suddenly becoming the Team Leader for a short amount of time (as our Team Leader went on vacation for a couple weeks) and suddenly being very important at work haha
Pros
  • Learned how to be more independent
  • made great friends and connections
  • learned a lot about myself
Cons
  • feeling homesick
  • sometimes being lonely
  • exhausting work culture

AIP Support

My experience with the Asia Internship Program was nothing short of incredible, and I truly cannot say enough good things about it. From the very beginning, AIP was organized, professional, and attentive to what I was looking for in an internship. What really made the experience stand out was Herlyn. She was absolutely amazing. So kind, responsive, and genuinely supportive at every step. Whether it was helping me navigate paperwork, checking in throughout the internship, or simply being a reassuring presence, Herlyn consistently went above and beyond to ensure that everything went smoothly and that I felt confident and prepared.

Thanks to her and the AIP team, I was placed in an internship that I absolutely loved and felt completely fulfilled by. It was the perfect fit, both professionally and personally. I’ve already started telling friends and classmates about AIP because I genuinely believe it is one of the best opportunities out there for anyone looking to gain international experience and grow in their field. I’m so grateful for the opportunity and all the care and effort AIP puts into making it such a meaningful program.

My time in Korea

Herlyn, Daisie, Nisha, and Tyler helped me during my program and constantly supported me. I was also helped by Ted, who was able to connect me with the best internship ever. I had an incredible time in Seoul and was given true freedom to explore while learning about the corporate culture of Korea. My friends and I could enjoy everything in Seoul together, and we could share different experiences from our internships, which made it all the more fun. We were also to learn so much about the culture and language it was incredible.

What was your funniest moment?
I got stuck in the subway door with the crazy rush hour.
Pros
  • Freedom
  • Incredible sights
  • Meeting great people
Cons
  • Too short
  • Language difficulty
