Overall my experience with The TEFL Academy was really positive. I did the Level 5 Diploma and found it super flexible and easy to fit around my full-time job. This program was very interesting to partake in. I learned a lot about being a teacher and engaging with students for the purpose of imparting knowledge about English as a medium of instruction worldwide. I'm hoping acquiring this qualification, will help me acquire the experience of actually tutoring potential student through online jobs and perhaps travelling abroad to destinations where English is a language they would like taught. I thoroughly enjoyed completing the Level 5 TEFL course. While I found it challenging at times, particularly balancing the workload and assignments with full-time employment, it was an incredibly rewarding and worthwhile experience.

The course was comprehensive and provided me with a wealth of knowledge and a much deeper understanding of teaching English as a foreign language. I particularly appreciated how much I learned about lesson planning, teaching methodologies, classroom management, and the different approaches to teaching English to students of varying ages and abilities.

Although the workload was demanding, I do feel that the time and effort invested were worthwhile. There were moments when I found the amount of information quite overwhelming, especially while trying to manage my existing work commitments, but completing the course has given me a real sense of accomplishment. I certainly feel more knowledgeable and better equipped to begin this new chapter.

If I could offer one piece of constructive criticism, it would be for the course creators to consider including more in-depth, practical guidance specifically related to teaching English online as part of the Level 5 qualification itself.

My primary reason for enrolling in this course was to pursue online teaching opportunities rather than teaching in a traditional classroom environment. While the course provides an excellent foundation in teaching principles and methodologies, I would have appreciated more detailed instruction on how to apply these skills in a virtual classroom.

For example, practical demonstrations or step-by-step tutorials on conducting online lessons, navigating commonly used teaching platforms, managing Zoom sessions, sharing screens and teaching materials, using interactive tools, and organising and supervising breakout rooms would have been extremely beneficial.

I also believe that guidance on managing student participation, maintaining engagement in a virtual environment, troubleshooting common technical difficulties, and adapting lesson plans specifically for online delivery would add tremendous value to the course.

Although I understand that additional courses may be available that focus specifically on online teaching, I feel that incorporating this information into the Level 5 course would make the qualification even more relevant and practical, particularly for students whose intention is to teach exclusively online.

Online teaching has become such a significant part of the English language teaching industry, and I believe that having more practical exposure to the technology and techniques involved would help bridge the gap between understanding teaching theory and confidently delivering an actual online lesson.

Having completed the course, I feel that I have gained a strong theoretical foundation, but I would still appreciate more practical preparation for the technical aspects of stepping into a virtual classroom for the first time. Even a dedicated module with video demonstrations and realistic examples of online lessons would make a meaningful difference.

That being said, this suggestion certainly does not take away from the overall quality of the course or the knowledge I have gained. I am genuinely pleased with my experience and grateful for everything I have learned.

I believe the skills and knowledge acquired through this qualification will be invaluable as I move forward, and I am excited about the opportunities it may open up for me.

Overall, I am very happy with the course and would recommend it to anyone considering a TEFL qualification, particularly those who are prepared to dedicate the necessary time and effort to their studies.

I had no idea what i was getting myself into but when i clicked on the “getting started” button i read and read the whole first page then i knew i had made a right decision.The online course made me feel like i was in a real class lesson,the webinars came every saturday which made it more exciting.It is self paced it allowed me to go to my 9 to 5 job and still come back to find it waiting for me.It is well structured and the tutor support gives more help.Thank you TTA for giving me the best………….

I enjoyed this course. It was tough at times, but very interesting and I learned a lot. It is a very comprehensive course - so much course material is provided. Many helpful links to other articles / information to study was also provided. Each assignment was quite specific and focused on the most important aspects of teaching the English language - I found parts of the assignments quite difficult, but once you get your head around it, it wasn't difficult to do. All the online videos are also a great source of study material or for extra help if you are stuck. I can't wait to start teaching!
