This was a whole new academic route for me and as an older student it was daunting. However, the format was easy to navigate and the modules were engaging. I have definitely learnt a lot. This has increased both my skills and my confidence. I was also supported by the TEFL Academy staff in sourcing an internship abroad. They put me at ease and gave great advice while going through the process. Moreover, I found this course great value for money. I would have no issues with recommending the program to anyone. It offers a great opportunity to work while travelling abroad.

I would for sure take this class again. It was very useful and wonderful. The support team was very nice and I can't find anything negative to say about this class ! Each time I had a doubt or a problem someone would answer to my questions in a very clear and fast manner. If you want to teach English to foreigners, you will find plenty of handy tools. I think it is a perfect way to learn at your own pace. Important to note, I wasn't working when I passed the level 5 TEFL and it took me about one month and a half to get certified !

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

My advice is to do a little bit of work everyday to not get late !

I had a great experience at TEFL. There website was easy to navigate and I had enough time to do the course alongside my bachelor's degree with their 6 month time period. I really appreciated the people who marked my assignments as well they were efficient and detailed in their marking.
I also really liked that the feedback that was given told you exactly what you needed to improve on change or edit. I definitely felt supported even though I had no face to face contact with the people who were marking my assignments.

What would you improve about this program?

I would just improve the way the website is set out. When u complete each unit it is hard to back track to work u have completed so if that can be fixed I would have no issues.

The academy provided so much support along the way with regards to setting up my CV, finding jobs and ensuring that I received my certificate. The administrative staff were very helpful and accommodating. They truly had my best interest in mind. The site is also user-friendly and interactive. The assessments are a great way to summarise learning and the assignment feedback was informative and helped practically prepare me for the TEFL lesson planning and content. This course has truly opened doors for me!

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?

Applying for jobs and recording demo videos was a new experience for me but the academy provided loads of helpful tips!

I recently completed the Level 5 Foreign Language course through the TTA Academy (The TEFL Academy), and I'm incredibly pleased with the experience and the knowledge and skills I've gained. The course was comprehensive and well-structured, covering all the essential elements of teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) worldwide.

The curriculum was designed to build a strong foundation in language theory, methodology, and practical teaching techniques. The grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and lesson planning modules were particularly valuable and have significantly improved my ability to effectively teach the English language.

The instructors were all experienced TEFL professionals who provided engaging lectures, interactive demonstrations, and detailed feedback. They created a supportive learning environment that encouraged collaboration and hands-on practice. I feel very confident in my preparedness to enter the TEFL field after completing this course.

The course materials, including online resources, and multimedia tools, were high-quality and relevant. I appreciated the flexibility of learning at my own pace through the online platform, while also having the opportunity to participate in live virtual classrooms.

Overall, I highly recommend the TTA Academy Level 5 Foreign Language course to anyone interested in pursuing a TEFL career. The comprehensive curriculum, knowledgeable instructors, and practical training have equipped me with the skills and confidence to teach English effectively in a variety of global contexts.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?

If I had the chance to go through the program again, one thing I would try to change is getting more involved in the extracurricular activities and networking opportunities.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the core curriculum and felt the course content was excellent, I think I could have taken even greater advantage of the additional resources and events offered by the academy.

For example, the TTA Academy had regular guest speaker sessions where they brought in experienced TEFL professionals to share their insights and career advice. Unfortunately, due to my busy work schedule at the time, I wasn't able to attend as many of these sessions as I would have liked.

Looking back, I realize how valuable those networking events could have been - not just for gaining practical wisdom, but also for making connections with potential employers or collaborators in the TEFL field.

The academy also organized occasional social events and field trips related to language and culture. I only participated in a couple of these, but they ended up being some of the most memorable parts of the program. Things like visiting local language schools, attending cultural performances, or simply having casual conversations with classmates from diverse backgrounds.

If I could go back, I would definitely try to free up more time to fully immerse myself in these extracurricular opportunities. They likely would have enriched my overall learning experience and helped me build an even stronger professional network as I launch my TEFL career.

Of course, the core coursework was excellent and I'm grateful for the solid foundation it provided. But in hindsight, I recognize the importance of getting the most out of all that a program like the TTA Academy has to offer.

The TEFL was a lot of work, but well worth it. As an experienced teacher, I learned so much that I could use in the classroom. Their support was incredibile, for every questions I asked, I was able to get an immediate response, allowing me to continue my studies with a clear understanding. I took this course for myself, as I am already a qualifired teacher since and I am happy to have already referred two people. Thank you TEFL team for an amazing experience. I will definately take everything I learned and use it in my classroom today. The tools you have provided with me, have already made a difference and I can see my students learning in way that I haven't seen before.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?

I would write to ask if I could change the topic of assignment A, fortnite was very new to me and outside my comfort zone. I passed the assignment but only after learning a lot about fortnite.

Initially, I felt apprehensive and hesitant about enrolling in the online TEFL course. I delayed my decision, finding excuses to avoid it. However, once I finally enrolled, I was thrilled to find the lessons enjoyable and non-intimidating. The lessons provided were clear-cut and simple to comprehend. Ample tools, online resources, and sufficient time are available for you to conduct thorough research and effectively apply the knowledge gained from the materials they provide. I was thrilled to discover that I could successfully finish the course, which filled me with a great sense of achievement. You never truly know what you're capable of until you try.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?

I was pleasantly surprised to find myself able to complete the course, which gave me a strong sense of accomplishment.

Why did you choose this program?

Because of geological location; however, the reason I chose this particular program was in part due to it looking more official than the others. On my trip to a foreign country (South Korea), I was told by my friend that I was very knowledgeable about what I knew and wondered how I would do at teaching. With my current job, it made sense with the way the program was laid out.

What did your program provider (or university) assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?

The provider assisted with making me dig deeper into what I already knew about the subjects; on my own, it was up to me to decide mine on topics' materials for every assignment (the provider also assisted in the matter by providing templates). When it came to reviews, the assessor assisted in what I need to improve and what was good, if not great.

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

If I had to give advice to someone that wanted this program, it would be to take their time. Although it can be done as quickly as needed, I would recommend them to take their time. Rushing will make them impatient and the longer lessons seem daunting, making one miss the simple things one already knows.

Be prepared to not have reviews on some of the lessons, as it will seem as they are abundant in the beginning.

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

An average day, as it is an online course, is, however, the students want it to be. However, I would recommend doing half a lesson in 2 to 3 days, then the other. Even so, that is still pushing it for those who are struggling; spending 1 hr a day may be enough, depending on how much one covers in that hour.

I myself tried to cover a lesson a day; in the beginning, it worked out fine, until you get to the longer lessons; then you have to take into account the assignments, which would take almost a week to perform properly.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

When going abroad, I was fearing that I would not be able to answer the questions that were being asked. But after a while, I felt more comfortable about that.

There are still times I feel I would not have the answer to some questions, but I am comfortable now that, if asked a question I don't know, I could easily answer it with the appropriate response.

Is there any type of information you would like to point out to others?

Yes. I would point out that it would be a good idea to find out what requirements one needs for the teaching job they want. It is important to note that there is paperwork that is needed as well when going abroad that needs to be taken into account. These two things are easily missed in the thought process.

What is your favorite travel memory?

One of my favourite travel memories is when I was in Croatia with a friend and we decided to venture in Bosnia Herzegovina for a few days. We stayed in a crazy hostel, with even crazier owners! They brought us to a rave in a cave which was so much fun. The next day we got to explore Mostar and we also traveled to Sarajevo and did a walking tour. It was so interesting!

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Getting to work for The TEFL Academy has given me opportunity to grow in many different ways. I speak to a range of different people from different places daily which is really interesting and sometimes we do have little chats about where in the world we are! I've also significantly improved my geography, which is handy!

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

My favourite stories are from teachers who teach young learners. The students get so attached to their teachers and they always have gifts from them that the children have made! I love to see the photos also; we often share these on our social media (with consent). It's a good way to show current and future students the opportunities out there when they get their qualifications.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would love to go on our Vietnam internship! I've always wanted to travel to Vietnam because it does look absolutely beautiful, but the internship sounds like a very rewarding one also. Getting to travel the world by also helping those to further their future prospects is an amazing opportunity.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

I think our company is unique in many different ways. Our organization is special because we really do believe in the power of education. We all, in some way or another, have traveled to many different places across the world, and the majority of us have taught also. This gives us a real insight into the actual world of TEFL and the teachers.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Being successful means a lot of different things for different people. I think a successful company really values what they are intending to do, and I believe The TEFL Academy does it in every way. My hope for our organization is that it grows and expands to cover all across the world! Providing a course that helps individuals to further themselves but also to educate others is something that is very special.
