This course was easy to learn and very well structured. The content was engaging and the assignments were challenging enough to put the theory we have learned into practice. The activities in each unit helped prepare us for the types of questions that were to be asked in the tests. The support provided by the tutors were very helpful and responses were quick and easy to understand. They were very helpful when guiding me on my assignments and their advice was professional. Overall , the course was fun and interesting.

What would you improve about this program?

In order to improve the programme, I would have liked to have fun , online quizzes and games to keep motivated and entertained to contribute to the uniqueness of the course.

After years of not studying I was nervous about embarking on a TEFL course. But after a reassuring and informative phone conversation with The TEFL Academy I knew that their level 5 online course was perfect for me! Able to study at my own pace (within 6 months) and knowing support was there if I needed it I thoroughly enjoyed the course. The three assignments stretched my capabilities and made me think deeply about my teaching and the excellent feedback showed me areas for improvement. I recommend this course to anyone wanting to add a string to their bow in a way that's fun, interesting and fits in with everyday life! Fabulous!

I started the TEFL Course when I graduated from university in 2020. The year was full of uncertainty and I hadn't figured out yet what to do after finishing my studies. It was hard to get a job especially when freshly graduated and companies preferred to hire experienced workers in such uncertain times. I did the TEFL Course simply to always have a plan B. Being able to teach English will always be useful. I loved the online format that allowed me to complete the course at my own pace. I can't wait to continue traveling the world from now on with the TEFL certificate, which gives me even more opportunities to discover unknown places.

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?

The most surprising thing during the course was the self-discipline that I developed while doing this course. As nobody forces you to get started everyday it was kind of hard in the beginning, but I increasingly improved my self-discipline.

The online level 5 course was full of helpful and descriptive content that covered all that I need to know to start my teaching career. I was initially scared and nervous about teaching, but I am now excited. I feel prepared for this new chapter in my life, all because The TEFL Academy provided extensive and needed content. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a course that will equip them with all the tools and knowledge needed to teach. I am super impressed and happy. Definitely worth the buy!

This was a really good course providing all the relevant information! If your thinking of taking this course you definitely should! One tip- Do the assignments when they are released. The staff was brill and considered my circumstances which allowed me to complete the course on time. Overall - great experience. With the course being online it was also great to know that you could complete units whenever you want! There was no targets and it’s literally up to you when you want to complete the course!

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?

I would complete the assignments straight away!! I left them for too long and started to forget the content so I would definitely advise to complete them when they are released.

I have loved the course! I have learned a lot about how to become a TEFL teacher and the assessments have been super useful. I would totally recommend it! I have learned things that I have never heard about before doing this course. After finishing it, I was able to find a job in just 1 month of doing research and applying to jobs. The course helps a lot on how to teach properly, and how to plan the lessons, making sure about the timing for each activity and so on. It can be done very quickly if you are consistent.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

Make sure you do it online to do it from anywhere. Do it as quick as you can so you do not forget about what you have learned already.

I particularly appreciated
- the excellent organization and presentation of the educational material;
- the focus on important topics in teaching of English as a foreign language΄
- the immediate correction of the assignments I wrote;
- the immediate answers of TEFL's collaborators, when I had some questions and sent them an email.
For all the aforementioned reasons I would like to highly recommend the TEFL courses. I believe that TEFL courses offer a particular opportunity to anyone who would like to improve his/her teaching skills in English as a foreign language.

What was your funniest moment?

It does not come to my mind a funny moment. That is why I would like to describe the most interesting moment. This was when I was thinking how I could use my TEFL experience by volunteering in a country in Africa or Latin America.

Studying the online Level 5 Tefl Course was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The course gave me the skills, knowledge and the needed confidence to teach both children and adults. The platform is very easy to follow and even though I considered myself to be a pretty good teacher, there was still a lot I still needed to learn, especially when it came to planning lessons. Throughout the course I learned new techniques and improved my general knowledge of English grammar and teaching methods. This course is a stepping stone to further development, offering ideas and recommendations to the teacher to help them continue developing professionally.

Why did you choose this program?

Because of geological location; however, the reason I chose this particular program was in part due to it looking more official than the others. On my trip to a foreign country (South Korea), I was told by my friend that I was very knowledgeable about what I knew and wondered how I would do at teaching. With my current job, it made sense with the way the program was laid out.

What did your program provider (or university) assist you with, and what did you have to organize on your own?

The provider assisted with making me dig deeper into what I already knew about the subjects; on my own, it was up to me to decide mine on topics' materials for every assignment (the provider also assisted in the matter by providing templates). When it came to reviews, the assessor assisted in what I need to improve and what was good, if not great.

What is one piece of advice you'd give to someone going on your program?

If I had to give advice to someone that wanted this program, it would be to take their time. Although it can be done as quickly as needed, I would recommend them to take their time. Rushing will make them impatient and the longer lessons seem daunting, making one miss the simple things one already knows.

Be prepared to not have reviews on some of the lessons, as it will seem as they are abundant in the beginning.

What does an average day/week look like as a participant of this program?

An average day, as it is an online course, is, however, the students want it to be. However, I would recommend doing half a lesson in 2 to 3 days, then the other. Even so, that is still pushing it for those who are struggling; spending 1 hr a day may be enough, depending on how much one covers in that hour.

I myself tried to cover a lesson a day; in the beginning, it worked out fine, until you get to the longer lessons; then you have to take into account the assignments, which would take almost a week to perform properly.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

When going abroad, I was fearing that I would not be able to answer the questions that were being asked. But after a while, I felt more comfortable about that.

There are still times I feel I would not have the answer to some questions, but I am comfortable now that, if asked a question I don't know, I could easily answer it with the appropriate response.

Is there any type of information you would like to point out to others?

Yes. I would point out that it would be a good idea to find out what requirements one needs for the teaching job they want. It is important to note that there is paperwork that is needed as well when going abroad that needs to be taken into account. These two things are easily missed in the thought process.

What is your favorite travel memory?

One of my favourite travel memories is when I was in Croatia with a friend and we decided to venture in Bosnia Herzegovina for a few days. We stayed in a crazy hostel, with even crazier owners! They brought us to a rave in a cave which was so much fun. The next day we got to explore Mostar and we also traveled to Sarajevo and did a walking tour. It was so interesting!

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

Getting to work for The TEFL Academy has given me opportunity to grow in many different ways. I speak to a range of different people from different places daily which is really interesting and sometimes we do have little chats about where in the world we are! I've also significantly improved my geography, which is handy!

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

My favourite stories are from teachers who teach young learners. The students get so attached to their teachers and they always have gifts from them that the children have made! I love to see the photos also; we often share these on our social media (with consent). It's a good way to show current and future students the opportunities out there when they get their qualifications.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would love to go on our Vietnam internship! I've always wanted to travel to Vietnam because it does look absolutely beautiful, but the internship sounds like a very rewarding one also. Getting to travel the world by also helping those to further their future prospects is an amazing opportunity.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

I think our company is unique in many different ways. Our organization is special because we really do believe in the power of education. We all, in some way or another, have traveled to many different places across the world, and the majority of us have taught also. This gives us a real insight into the actual world of TEFL and the teachers.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Being successful means a lot of different things for different people. I think a successful company really values what they are intending to do, and I believe The TEFL Academy does it in every way. My hope for our organization is that it grows and expands to cover all across the world!
