I really enjoyed the layout of the course. I thought the chapters followed a good structure that built on each previous chapter. I enjoyed the assignments and found that the TA feedback was very useful. I spent roughly 3 hours at a time working on it and was very productive some weeks and other weeks not so much. I completed the course during the summer so I had a lot going on but found I was so interested in the content that I wanted to make time for the course. I think it will be a great resume builder because it seems to be from a very reliable company. I would recommend if you are thinking of teaching abroad because you can easily save a lot of the information for future use. Overall, the course was a lot more time consuming than I thought it would be but was well worth it.

Being an older student and doing the online level 5 course came with its own set of challenges I must say I am really impressed with The Tefl Academy layout and explanation when progressing through the different modules. I really enjoyed the modules as they are so interactive and user-friendly. I also really enjoyed another feature and that was the instant marking of each module and not allowing you to proceed until you have completed each step. This way it ensures that everyone does all the same steps and there is no jumping ahead, the work has to be done. Another bonus learning feature is the end of each module and after marking you get to see your error highlighted incorrectly and the correct answer displayed. I found this extremely helpful and did not have to spend precious time looking for the correct answer as mistakes were addressed there and then on the spot really sealed the deal for me. The assignments are hard BUT there is help available and you must put in the hours. I really loved the fact that the tutors get back to you really fast and address your issue at hand. One of the main factors was that I wanted a TEFL certificate that was internationally recognized which the Tefl Academy is. I would highly recommend them.

This online course is easy to follow and convenient, as you don't have to physically attend classes. It took me some time to complete the course due to my personal situations, but I was able to work in my own time. The course will provide you with the essential knowledge to teach English as a foreign language. It consists of 11 Units and 3 assignments. For each assignment, you will be asked to prepare a lesson plan for different levels, students and topics. I found these assignments particularly helpful as I was able to use the knowledge I acquired through the course to complete them. By preparing a lesson plan, you can make sure that the lesson aims and objectives are met in the time allowed. If you are actually teaching a TEFL class, time management is something you need to learn and improve. Overall, I think their course is good value for money and would recommend to others if they need a TEFL certificate.

The TEFL Academy Level 5 Online course was the first online course I have ever taken and, at first, I didn't know how it was going to go. However, it went smooth. I went through the units and tests easily, but I must admit that the three assignments were a little demanding. When I made it to the Assignment A, I just couldn't figure where to start. It took me almost a month to finish it, but, in the end, I got fantastic feedback and the highest grade, so it all ended well. I guess the problem was me, my insecurity. The other two assignments were easier. I recommend every aspiring teacher to take this course, you will learn a lot, not just about the language, but also about how to teach certain things. All in all, I give this course 10 out of 10.

The course work is thorough and well structured. It provides and excellent background and theoretical base for anyone that has never had teaching training before. The notes I have taken during the course will always be valuable, and I will use them for reference often in my future. The unit structure is helpful to break the course up into logical parts.
The assignments are tough, but they provide plenty of self confidence once you are able to pass them successfully. It forces you to think about the practical application of the theory discussed in the units and teaches you how to create your own lessons from nothing.
The TEFL Academy staff are very helpful and friendly! I appreciated their assistance throughout my course and I am very grateful. They also provide a lot of resources for job applications once you have completed your course. Overall great!

I'm not a native speaker so I found grammar and skills teaching very easy. The course is detailed, the instructions are clear and easy to understand. The readings are interesting and engaging - they're not written in a "standard", boring textbook-style which makes you feel like you have to have a nap or a strong coffee. The interactive concept checking questions at the end of almost all pages were good indicators showing whether I got the idea of the discussed topic or not. They were pointing me in a right direction towards subjects that I found harder.
The tutors were usually giving the feedback back on time and their opinions were insightful, well-constructed and giving some further ideas to improve when the assessments, that I've been asked to do, won't be a necessity to pass a course but will become a real-life, real-work duties.

The TEFL Academy's online course has actually exceeded my expectations. This was my second attempt to receive a professional qualification online and, by far, it was the most successful. The learning platform is simple and straightforward: no frills, no glitches, it is equally accessible from either a desktop PC or from mobile device. The admin and technical support is fantastic. I opened two ticket items and had someone coming back to me with a solution in just a few hours, usually on the same very day.
Assignments I had to work on were tough but doable, and the theoretical part has been kept to a practical minimum.
In my opinion, this is a very good solution for those looking to receive a TEFL qualification online, and I highly recommend The TEFL Academy course to anyone.

I believe The TEFL Academy did an amazing job with the Online Level 5 TEFL Course. I feel like the course provided excellent information to be learnt, and plenty of practice to actually internalise and understand what was being taught. This is absolutely essential for all education but particularly for online courses, which can be quite regurgitative. The TEFL Academy has designed a course that requires application and understanding, which is far more useful than parrot-learning. There is a good sense of progression through the course so you don't ever feel like you aren't moving forward; great for motivation.

Also important to mention that I think anyone who is proficient in English can excel at the course, not just those who are English first language speakers.

Overall a really great course.
