I have just started teaching English online and faced a lot of difficulties: how to work with kids and adults, what to do with beginners and how to teach advanced students if they've already known everything. But also preparing lesson plans - a real nightmare.

So, I decided to browse the web to solve these problems and feel more confident during lessons. I bumped into the 120-hours TEFL/TESOL course by World TESOL Academy completely by accident. I decided to try it and never regretted it. It is totally great course, which answered all my questions about teaching and even more - I feel more confident now and can really enjoy my lessons.Course information is provided in plain language and everything was clear and accurate. And at the end of each module, there were little tests so that I could understand how I learned the topic. I almost forgot to mention that there are some videos of lesson activities in the course, which everyone may use during their lessons.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?

The most nerve-racking moment was the passing of the last final test because the result of the test was dependent on whether I received a certificate. But I easily passed it on excellent results, because I studied hard during each module and wrote some notes

Honestly, the main component that attracted me the the course was the price. For something that offer so much content and is so well accredited, I was amazed to see that they also had the addition of being affordable. Going through the course was a breeze, as it was easy to read and extremely easy to understand; In addition, I liked the fact that tips were given on how to teach a particular lesson. The course did seem a bit long at first, but with enough dedication and time, it is definitely possible to finish it faster than anticipated. Although I personally never used the tutors, it was reassuring to know that they were always here in case I had a question or needed help. Overall, I really liked my experience and I would definitely recommend it to others as well.

What was your funniest moment?

Realizing that the last module was as big as the first one. I almost cried.

I found that this course covered all the material that I needed, with some great tips and ideas. I feel more confident now to move into teaching English, particularly online and with small groups of young learners in person. The platform was easy to use and the content was clear, with enough but not too much detail. The sections were short enough that I did not lose focus and was motivated to keep going. I particularly enjoyed the videos demonstrating teaching methods with real students as it gave a real idea of how this would play out in real life.

I took this course to further my skills in teaching English especially to non-native speakers of the language. In our school, we have a lot of Asian students and to be able to help them I would need to learn how to properly address their learning. Sure, I have my bachelor's degree in English but this course offered details I might have overlooked when I took my program.

The platform is very easy to navigate and the discussions are very easy to comprehend. I think, even without a background knowledge in English or teaching English, you would be able to pass this course. Try it now!

I signed up for this course without a due date in mind so I opted to pay for the option without an expiration date. This proved to be a great option because about 6 months after signing up (and taking my time to complete some of the lessons without any hurry) I became pregnant. The ability to stop and go with the course, whenever I wanted to, from wherever I wanted to was perfect for me and my situation.
The course was easy to navigate, very informative, and engaging. The fact that you could take the lesson quiz a second time also took away the anxiety of getting it all wrong and having to quit or start over from 0. I am very satisfied with the course, what it cost me- which was extremely reasonable- and the end result.

I have learnt a lot during the TESOL course and I found it very interesting and easy to access and understand it. Surely, I will be able to have a better teaching experience after all that I learnt here.I would like to thank you all for giving such a great experience and learning environment. The classes were short and easy to understando and apply in a real teaching environment. I could learn a lot and practice almost all the tips and things the platform/course showed. Now, I would like to find a teacher job abroad .

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

My advice is to read the entire course carefully and write down important points for you, with this method it will be very easy to remember everything without the need to repeat the course a lot.

Gaining a certain amount of knowledge I was unaware of has made me level up my teaching skills. All thanks to 'World Tesol Academy' for helping me call myself a "Certified English Language tutor". I am looking forward to pursuing more courses with them to hone my teaching abilities. There are two more courses, TEAL and TEYL, which are still on my bucket list. Hopefully, I will be able to give some time to those courses too soon. I never expected the course to be that easy and effective for improving myself on the grounds of a language teacher.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

Going into my experience teaching English as a foreign language overseas, my biggest fear was not being able to effectively connect with and engage my students due to language barriers and cultural differences. I worried that my limited experience in new cultural settings might make it challenging to communicate and build rapport.

I overcame this fear by investing time in learning about the local culture and customs, actively seeking feedback from students and colleagues, and adapting my teaching methods to better suit their needs. As I gained more experience and confidence, I realized that being flexible and open to learning from my students greatly enhanced my teaching effectiveness. My views on the issue evolved as I understood that building relationships and understanding local contexts are key to successful teaching abroad.
