If you're an avid English teacher and/or learner, this is the course you should take at the drop of a hat! When I first signed up for this course, my main goal was to upskill myself so I can achieve professional growth. By profession, I'm an English tutor with a Masters in Education degree from Malaysia. Fortunately, I've had the opportunity to teach foreign students mainly from China and I would like to broaden my horizon even further by reaching out to more foreign students virtually. Hence, I picked this 120-hour TESL/TEFL course after reading the excellent reviews about it.

I like how this course has encompassed a wide range of modules not only to cater for physical English classes, but also online ones. The techniques shared are really useful and applicable in real-life English lessons. I've applied some of them and I've seen the gradual changes in my classes, both physical and online. From the typical, mundane English classes, I've managed to slowly transform them into more fun and interactive lessons after implementing a few tricks introduced in the course module.

This course is definitely worth every penny that I've spent on it! Look no further if you, too, want to learn from the best and get the best return on investment! Education is a lifelong journey, and I'm sincerely glad that World TESOL Academy is a part of it.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?

If I could do this course all over again, I would be more consistent in my learning journey instead of letting myself procrastinate. If I had been more diligent in self-studying, I would have completed this training course sooner. So, if there's one thing I've learnt from this experience is to focus and enjoy learning to keep going further!

Pros

I've learnt many more new techniques which I didn't know before like TTT, TBL, etc.
I've become more aware in the way I conduct my English lessons and engage with my students.
I've become more independent in self-learning despite being busy with my everyday job.

Cons

I studied till late night because the course module was too addictive and I couldn't stop wanting to know what's next! It's similar to reading an appealing comic/ manga, you just want to finish the whole book in a setting!
The delivery cost of the hard copy certificate and transcript is quite high per se; it can actually cover the cost of another new course from World TESOL Academy.
There is no digital copy of the transcript provided (without charges) after the completion of the course, only the digital copy of the certificate is provided.

It was an incredible experience - it was beneficial for me as a teacher and I wished that it lasted longer. The program is rich, it gives the opportunity to enlarge the teaching background of any teacher who seeks to deliver lessons to speakers of other languages. To reach a goal like teaching overseas you should try your best and achieve higher degrees and one must be exposed to knowledge of the essential tools of teaching, and this training has helped me to reach this objective. It took me time but it's worth it.

Hi everyone! This is Yassine from Rabat in Morocco. I recently completed the TEA course which is the at the World TESOL Academy. I decided to take this course after reading all of the positive comments and reviews from people who had completed the TEA course. I can absolutely recommend World TESOL Academy to everyone wishing to get a deeper insight into teaching language skills to adult learners. I truly enjoyed, refreshed and learned a lot of things about pedagogy, andragogy, ways and strategies to teach adults. I would also suggest those who plan to take the course to set aside at least one hour a day to practice in order to complete the course at their earliest convenience.
The course is amazing, easily accessible, rich in content and doesn’t break the bank!

What would you improve about this program?

Implementing interactive videos on teaching cases or teaching strategies examples

Very highly recommended program and I recommend to those who want to open a school or be a teacher. This is a simple and very interactivity program which I came across. Nowadays people are so busy that they do not have time to do a program face to face and waste hours completing it or some will never end up completing it due to commitment. This program helps those who have less time but want to fulfill their requirement to move forward in life and be someone who gos and gets their dreams.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?

Thank you for creating such an amazing program. The valuable curriculum, combined with always having instructors available to help us out if any questions arised, has provided me with a great experience, knowledge and skills that I will carry with me throughout my teaching career.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?

Take your time, and don't be in your head too much. Its much more doable than you might think

I originally wanted to start learning to teach English as a foreign language back during the pandemic in 2020. I looked through many different programs but either couldn’t find the time to commit, or would be short on money as I was looking. I got the notion to look again a few months ago, and found this program. World tesol academy made it not only affordable to pursue my career, but convenient and (for better or for worse) at my own pace. I can’t wait to see what possibilities lie ahead in the future.

What was the most nerve-racking moment and how did you overcome it?

Undoubtedly the final exam. I had taken in so much information in such a short period of time that I thought it would take me a few tries. Luckily I got it on the first try.

Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear, and how did you overcome it? How did your views on the issue change?

Going into my experience teaching English as a foreign language overseas, my biggest fear was not being able to effectively connect with and engage my students due to language barriers and cultural differences. I worried that my limited experience in new cultural settings might make it challenging to communicate and build rapport.

I overcame this fear by investing time in learning about the local culture and customs, actively seeking feedback from students and colleagues, and adapting my teaching methods to better suit their needs. As I gained more experience and confidence, I realized that being flexible and open to learning from my students greatly enhanced my teaching effectiveness. My views on the issue evolved as I understood that building relationships and understanding local contexts are key to successful teaching abroad.
