Great course

I thought this online course was extremely well put together and easy to understand. The way they sectioned the modules and submodules allowed for optimal learning and focus. They include videos, photos, charts, and helpful links. I have ADHD and this course has been one of the best online courses I've taken! They provide support should you need it or have any questions about the material. It's very well organized. They set you up for success and I feel comfortable and excited about teaching English! 10/10 would recommend.

Review on WorldTESOL

The course is pretty straightforward and with just an hour or two a day you can easily complete the entire set of courses (TESOL, TEAL, TEYL and TEOL) within the given period of time. I'm not a native English speaker; it's only my second language although I have been learning and using the English language since elementary. I'd say that the course wouldn't be too difficult for those who doesn't speak English as their main or second language but I still advise to further learn through more comprehensive courses.

What is your advice to future travelers on this program?
The course is worth the money especially for people who are already fluent with English; but for those who don't speak English as their primary or secondary language but want to teach the language, I advice that you continue on learning English further on more comprehensive courses.
Pros
  • The courses are quite comprehensive and are well organized.
  • There's plenty of links to materials and references. Very useful to bookmark for future use.
  • Their support team is quick to respond. Also, the period given is enough time to complete the course.
Cons
  • It was too easy to pass the tests and too lenient to pass. I feel like even those unqualified could pass it because they can just retake the tests until they pass.
  • There's no interactive features in the program. It would be a big plus if the program offers teaching demos.
  • Some items are outdated; things like links to outside websites and other references are either missing or already sold out long ago.

120-hour TESOL/TEFL Course

I recently completed the TESOL/TEFL program at World TESOL Academy, and I am eager to share my experience with prospective students considering a career in English language teaching. Overall, my time in the program was both enriching and challenging, providing me with a solid foundation to pursue my teaching goals. The curriculum covered a wide range of topics essential for effective English language teaching, including language acquisition theories, pedagogical approaches, classroom management strategies, and assessment techniques. The courses were well-structured and offered a good balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
If I were to do TESOL all over again, one thing I would change is to seek out more opportunities for peer observation and feedback. Collaborating with peers to observe each other's teaching practices and share constructive feedback would have enhanced my professional growth and development as an English language teacher. I believe that receiving feedback from fellow TESOL students could have provided additional perspectives and insights for improvement.
Pros
  • Online TESOL courses offer flexibility in terms of scheduling, allowing students to study at their own pace and accommodate other commitments such as work or family responsibilities.
  • Online TESOL programs make education more accessible to individuals who may not have the ability to attend traditional on-campus classes due to geographical constraints or other limitations.
  • Online TESOL programs may be more cost-effective than traditional on-campus programs, as they often eliminate expenses associated with commuting, housing, and campus facilities.
Cons
  • Online TESOL courses may lack the face-to-face interaction that is often valued in language teaching education. This can limit opportunities for real-time communication, collaboration, and hands-on teaching practice.
  • Online TESOL programs require access to reliable internet connection and technological devices such as computers or tablets. Technical issues or disruptions may impede the learning experience for some students.
  • While some online TESOL programs include teaching practicum components, others may have limited opportunities for hands-on teaching experience. This could potentially affect students' readiness to apply their knowledge in real-world classroom settings.

**Advice for the Next Batch of TSOL Course Participants**

Congratulations on joining the TSOL Language Course! As someone who has completed the program, I'd like to offer some advice to help you make the most out of your learning experience:

1. **Stay Consistent:** Set aside dedicated time each day or week for your language studies. Consistency is key to making progress, so make a habit of practicing regularly, even if it's just for a short period.

2. **Engage Actively:** Take advantage of the interactive nature of the course by actively participating in discussions, exercises, and practice sessions. Don't be afraid to make mistakes; they are an essential part of the learning process.

3. **Seek Feedback:** Don't hesitate to ask questions and seek feedback from instructors and peers. Constructive criticism will help you identify areas for improvement and refine your language skills.

4. **Immerse Yourself:** Immerse yourself in the language as much as possible outside of the course. Watch movies, listen to music, read books, and engage with native speakers to reinforce what you've learned in class.

5. **Practice Speaking:** Language proficiency is not just about knowing grammar and vocabulary; it's also about being able to communicate effectively. Practice speaking as much as you can, whether it's with classmates, language exchange partners, or even by talking to yourself.

6. **Use Resources Wisely:** Take advantage of all the resources provided by the course, including textbooks, online platforms, and supplementary materials. Experiment with different learning techniques to find what works best for you.

7. **Set Realistic Goals:** Set achievable goals for yourself, whether it's mastering a particular grammar concept, expanding your vocabulary, or holding a conversation on a specific topic. Break larger goals down into smaller, manageable tasks to keep yourself motivated.

8. **Stay Motivated:** Learning a new language can be challenging at times, but remember why you started and stay motivated. Celebrate your progress along the way, and don't get discouraged by setbacks.

A concise and effective course

I took this TESOL course so I could supplement my day job with part-time work as an online tutor. Since it was a 120-hour course, it seemed daunting at first and I felt that it was going to take too long and would simply take too much of my time. However, the course content proved easy to digest and the design of the course allows students to take it at their preferred pace. I for one wanted to complete the course as soon as possible so I used several hours over the weekend to finish several modules at a time. Of course, this pace is not for everyone, but I love that you can go through the course material based on your schedule. I also found it helpful that half of the course modules are about teaching methods, techniques, prospects, online tutorial companies, etc. This tells me that the course was carefully crafted with the target audience at the top of mind. I can't wait to apply all the skills and techniques that I have learned in this course!

Pros
  • Self-paced
  • Concise
  • Visual (videos, graphs, images, etc.)
Cons
  • No teacher / No personal touch or interaction

Just for TESOL

One of the highlights of my experience was immersing myself in a new culture. The opportunity to learn a new language, indulge in local cuisine, and forge friendships with people from different backgrounds enriched my perspective in ways I never imagined. Every interaction was a lesson in cultural exchange, and I cherished every moment of it.
However, it wasn't all smooth sailing. Adjusting to life in a foreign country came with its fair share of challenges. I have noticed significant improvement in my understanding through this course,, thanks .M wali Italy

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
Once I was in Germany city Munich the people of that region and mostly visitors they throw coins in small Cristal clean river..
Pros
  • Increasing confidence
  • Language proficiency
  • Cultural understanding
Cons
