Internships in London with The Intern Group

Due to my major and position as the president of a student organization, I didn't have the time to study abroad during a semester. The Intern Group provided a great opportunity for me to go abroad over the summer, and I'd heard great things about it. I had a lot of choice with the Intern Group. I could pick from a ton of major cities to intern in, and once I decided, they gave me a choice of several companies to interview with.

The Intern Group laid out steps for me to follow to get my visa and apply for everything I needed to work abroad. Once I was in the program, they found me housing and set me up with interviews with multiple companies until I found one that I liked. Once I got to London, they had several events all the participants were involved in. They got us tickets to the London Eye, a West End show and a high tea lunch. They also provided me with a metro card for the subway system for my first month.

What is your favorite travel memory?

My favorite travel memory is renting a camper van and exploring the stunning landscapes of the Dolomites. We would park each night next to the mountains, and every morning, I’d wake up early to go on a long hike. The trails were challenging but very rewarding, offering breathtaking views. I visited during the fall, off-peak season, which made it even more special. The pine trees were changing colour, transitioning from green to orange. I also brought my film camera, and along our hikes, we’d stop to take lots of photos. It was the best holiday I could ask for!

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I’ve gained a much deeper understanding of community building and the importance of creating meaningful connections. I now have a clearer vision of how to design experiences that leave a lasting impact on students, helping them feel engaged, supported, and inspired. My team has played a key role in this growth, offering guidance and support, especially during challenging moments. They help me learn not just professionally but personally.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

The best story I’ve heard from a returning student is how their internship helped confirm their career path. Initially, they were uncertain about their decision, but by the end of the internship, they discovered a renewed sense of motivation and a clear purpose. Now, they are more clear on what course to take in their university or what extra skills they want to learn.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I would want to try all our programmes if possible but if I had to choose it would be Colombia or Madrid to experience life in a Spanish-speaking country. I studied Spanish for four years and would love the chance to put it to use and work toward fluency. Plus, both places have such rich, vibrant cultures with amazing food.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

What makes my company unique is the team’s genuine passion for what we do. We’re deeply committed to helping students gain valuable work experience and discover their career paths. I also love it when our university partner sees the value of their students doing an internship. I truly love our company culture, and I’m thankful of the people who have helped shape it into what it is today.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I believe the biggest factor in being a successful company is the combination of the product we offer, the team behind it, and the people who use our service. A great product is important, but our team continually works to improve it based on our students' feedback. What really drives us is ensuring that our students have the best possible experience while on the program. We put a lot of thought into designing programs that support their growth, help them succeed, and create lasting impact on their lives.
