Great!

I really enjoyed working with Teaching Nomad. They explained everything that was going on in each step of the interview process clearly. They had a number of places for me to interview at but it only took one interview to get hired. I worked with Sophia and she was super great and encouraging. Even after I got to Shanghai she checked on me periodically to make sure everything was going well with the new position.

Great recruiting agency!

Teaching Nomad is a great recruiting agency for teaching positions. They are trustworthy, helpful, and professional. In addition, their services are free. Ila Afshar walked with me through the whole process which was so helpful and made it a lot less stressful. She was very responsive to messages and did everything she could to answer questions or provide needed information. I am very grateful for her assistance and would highly recommend her.

Oliver: the best in the.....East!

When I first decided I wanted to go overseas and teach, I was scared about all the changes and differences. I contacted almost 20 agencies in a year's time and Oliver from Teaching Nomad almost immediately contacted me.

Oliver explained everything to me and was very patient in answering my every question and concern. I especially like that he used his own experience as examples.

He helped me combine a profile for schools and within a week he had a position available. I applied for the position and got the job! I will be going to China in February!

Oliver promised me he will still be there every step and I am thankful for that.

Thank you so much, Oliver! Yours is the best service I received from any recruiter!

Best agency I've worked with!

I've worked with several agencies trying to find a teaching job abroad, and hadn't had much luck until TN. Ashley, my consultant, was great from start to finish. The response time from when I signed up to their website to when I was contacted was very short, and as soon as our interview was over, Ashley was sending me links to the exact types of jobs I wanted. Within a few days I had an interview scheduled at a university, which is exactly where I wanted to work. I had been applying to lots of universities before, and was having a lot of trouble finding a position, but within a week of working with Ashley, I had my dream job. The support has been fantastic, and now that I've arrived in China, I couldn't be happier. This job is exactly what I was looking for and I am very grateful to Ashley and the TN team for making the stressful job hunt so simple and quick. This agency is definitely one to contact if you are looking to work abroad - they get things done! Thanks TN! :)

Shanghai, China

My partner and I had been travelling and teaching for the last four years and decided to take a break to complete our masters in Brisbane, Australia. While studying, we wanted to apply for teaching positions in Shanghai. After a little bit of research, we discovered Teaching Nomads. Our recruiters were both helpful and positive but realistic at the same time. They always answered our questions within a matter of minutes some days and placed us in very good schools. It is hard to find reliable teaching jobs abroad, for some schools are only looking for appearances and not much substance or responsibility. It has been such a relief to have everything go smoothly. I would/will recommend this company to anyone who is thinking about doing the same thing. Thank you to all for getting us here!

Erin

What would you improve about this program?
I would suggest, if possible, to tell people that Ulearn takes over once you arrive. And that there are actually two companies; Teaching Nomads and Ulearn that help new arrivals.

Questions & Answers

At this time, many schools in China are hiring from overseas and feel confident they will be able to secure working visas for overseas hires. We would encourage you to begin getting your documents authenticated now so you are prepared for the visa application.

Hello Erik, most of the English teaching roles posted on our site require candidates from native English speaking countries. However we do have subject teacher positions for non-native speakers if they have experience teaching that subject. We also have TEFL course + job placement opportunities in many countries that don't require the candidates to be native speakers. You can learn more about...

Yes! A teaching degree is not required to teach abroad. In many cases experience and/or a TEFL certification is an adequate qualification. We place couples all the time!

In such a case we would recommend the individual to contact the authorities to report the assault. This would include local police as well as the consulate or Embassy of your country. Of course we would never work with a school or organization that allowed an assault to occur.
