A concise and effective course

I took this TESOL course so I could supplement my day job with part-time work as an online tutor. Since it was a 120-hour course, it seemed daunting at first and I felt that it was going to take too long and would simply take too much of my time. However, the course content proved easy to digest and the design of the course allows students to take it at their preferred pace. I for one wanted to complete the course as soon as possible so I used several hours over the weekend to finish several modules at a time. Of course, this pace is not for everyone, but I love that you can go through the course material based on your schedule. I also found it helpful that half of the course modules are about teaching methods, techniques, prospects, online tutorial companies, etc. This tells me that the course was carefully crafted with the target audience at the top of mind. I can't wait to apply all the skills and techniques that I have learned in this course!

Pros
  • Self-paced
  • Concise
  • Visual (videos, graphs, images, etc.)
Cons
  • No teacher / No personal touch or interaction

Just for TESOL

One of the highlights of my experience was immersing myself in a new culture. The opportunity to learn a new language, indulge in local cuisine, and forge friendships with people from different backgrounds enriched my perspective in ways I never imagined. Every interaction was a lesson in cultural exchange, and I cherished every moment of it.
However, it wasn't all smooth sailing. Adjusting to life in a foreign country came with its fair share of challenges. I have noticed significant improvement in my understanding through this course,, thanks .M wali Italy

What was the most surprising thing you saw or did?
Once I was in Germany city Munich the people of that region and mostly visitors they throw coins in small Cristal clean river..
Pros
  • Increasing confidence
  • Language proficiency
  • Cultural understanding
Cons
  • Overrelienc of traditional methods
  • Resistance to change
  • Risk of burnout

Difficult at times but very educational

At times, especially at the start, I found this course difficult. But once I got into dedicating time and finding a quiet place where I could to concentrate, then things got easier and everything fell into place.
I am glad I did this course, and I am very glad I passed the final exam on the first attempt.
Although, you need to revise prior to taking it.
Good luck to anyone else who is contemplating this.
It might seem hard but it gets easier. Do not give up, go for a walk and return fresh
Go for it.

Great learning opportunity!

My experience with this course was transformative, offering comprehensive modules, engaging materials, interactive learning opportunities, and excellent instructor support, ultimately equipping me with the confidence and skills to teach English as a second language effectively.
One of the standout features of the World TESOL Academy's course is its structured and organized approach. The course is divided into well-designed modules, each covering essential aspects of teaching English to speakers of other languages. This structure not only helped me stay focused, but also allowed me to progress through the material at my own pace, which was incredibly valuable.

What was the most unfamiliar thing you ate?
I once accidentally ate a sandwich filled with peanut butter, pickles, and mustardโ€”it was a bizarre culinary adventure I never intended to embark on!
Pros
  • Comprehensive curriculum covering essential aspects of teaching English as a second language.
  • Preparation for teaching English to diverse learners, enhancing inclusivity and cultural competency.
  • Flexible structure allowing participants to progress at their own pace.
Cons
  • Limited opportunities for face-to-face interaction with instructors and peers, given the online format.
  • Limited opportunities for hands-on teaching experience, which may require participants to seek additional practical training elsewhere.

Very recommended

Having completed the 120-hour TESOL/TEFL certificate program online, I can confidently say that it exceeded my expectations. The flexibility of the online format allowed me to study at my own pace while balancing other commitments, making it convenient and accessible. The course content was comprehensive and well-structured, covering essential topics such as language acquisition theories, teaching methodologies, and classroom management strategies. The interactive nature of the online platform, coupled with the guidance of experienced instructors, fostered a conducive learning environment where I felt supported and engaged throughout the program. The practical teaching experience provided valuable hands-on learning opportunities, enhancing my confidence and readiness to enter the field of English language teaching. Overall, I highly recommend this online course to anyone looking to pursue a career in teaching English as a second language.

If you did this all over again, what's one thing you would change?
If I had the opportunity to do it all over again, one thing I would change is to actively seek out more opportunities for peer collaboration and discussion. While the online format provided flexibility, I believe that engaging in more collaborative activities with fellow participants would have enriched the learning experience further. Sharing insights, exchanging ideas, and discussing teaching practices with peers could have offered different perspectives and enhanced my understanding of the course material. Therefore, I would prioritize participating in online forums, group discussions, or virtual study groups to maximize the collaborative aspect of the learning process.
Pros
  • Flexible
  • Friendly
  • Clear
Cons
  • Too
  • Much
  • Text

A step closer to achieving a lifelong goal!

I have always had a goal to live overseas and teach english, and I am so excited to have finished my course!
I looked into other programs to kickstart my TESOL qualifications, but having the ability to do it online, in my own time and while traveling was amazing.
I was able to create great notes, build lesson plans with the help of the course, and most of all refresh on my own understanding of the English language as a native speaker.
The lesson and content ideas were great, and I feel confident that once I work with a provider or school I will be able to combine what I learnt in the course with the practical assistance they will provide me. 5/5 stars!!

Pros
  • Easy to follow
  • Video examples are helpful
  • Table summaries were great
Cons
  • A few more templates for lesson plans would be great
