Questions & Answers

Hi there, I would recommend 120 Hours-ITTT or TEFL if you're looking to teach English for non-English speaking people. Most schools or Language teaching centers request a TEFL certificate. Best wishes and have a great day.
I'm not sure if there is a different certificate required to teach English in Greece but I do know the certification I have is called the TEFL certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). Maybe that's what the person will need to teach English there, in addition to other documents.
Hi Anna, please contact the ITTT admin staff at any time in the future if you would like some assistance finding employers and available teaching positions. .

Online Ease

I took the 120 credit hour online course without tutor assistance for my TEFL certification. It was an excellent course because it allowed me to take my time through the materials, balancing out my own schedule with the coursework. I now live abroad and teach English as a second language. The coursework prepared me well, especially in regards to lesson planning and grammar. I use my knowledge acquired from this course on a daily basis. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to teach English abroad as a good checkbox for your resume as well as training for future teaching jobs.

What would you improve about this program?
I wouldn't change a thing about the program I took. It was excellent.

Very informative

As an experienced English teacher, with over 10 years of experience, I was a little hesitant at first about completing a TEFL. The program, however, was very informative and I learned quite a lot of new and useful information. I have since implemented what I've learned and applied it to my classroom. The course has been advantageous and beneficial to both myself and my students. The program was perfect for me as I teach full time. I could study and complete the program at my own pace. All in all, I would definitely recommend taking the course, but be ready to commit.

Low cost but just a certificate

I thought the materials were useful, and I learnt a lot about grammar and some basic information. However, it was not very challenging, and too easy to pass. It was an online course, so there were no practical elements which is a major drawback. There was no online community discussions or group work either, so it was very isolating as a course.

It's great if you want a cheap, online TEFL certificate to add to your resume for an unexperienced teacher. However, practically it's not that useful in the classroom.

What would you improve about this program?
Make it more interactive, group work, more challenging with more feedback from tutors throughout the course, not just for the lesson plan final assignment.

Worth It

It was good to learn technical terms and grammatical forms that I did not know how to describe. Money-wise, it was expensive but I had a grant also that covered part of the cost. It was nice to know more about English from a teaching perspective and did widen my perspective and knowledge. I enjoyed that I could download and access content chapters and material offline which made it easy for me to do work whenever I could. The organization of ITTT and its format of learning a chapter and then doing a quiz was very methodical and easy to use/remember.

A Decent TEFL course

ITTT's online TEFL certification is a great option for students who know they want to teach abroad, but may be strapped for cash and can't afford to travel somewhere to take a course.
That was my situation. The course itself will give you a basic run-down of how to teach following 3-Stage teaching format called ESA. The course is fairly straightforward, you work through a set amount of modules, then take a final exam which is planning your own ESA format lesson. The course will do a good job at giving you an idea of how to teach a class of teenagers or adults. The method used doesn't really work well with young children, which is most of my classes. Keep in mind that every school will do things a little different. For example, the school I work at now in Taiwan wants us to use a different teaching method called PPP, it's very similar to ESA but it works better for younger learners. So the method you learn may not be what you actually use in your day to day lessons. Overall, I would say this course is a great option if you don't have a $1000+ (USD) to spend on an in-class course. However, if you have the extra, I highly advise you take an in-class program because with that, you get teaching experience. My first time ever teaching was absolute mess and it made me really wish I had that prior experience. But for what you pay, you do get some detailed lessons, activity idea, and most importantly the certification itself.

What would you improve about this program?
I think the program could be improved by focusing on a few other teaching methods like PPP and task based learning. This would help teachers go into their jobs with a better understanding of what methods will work best for different types of classes. Some schools may not care what method you use as long as you get the job done, while others are a little more picky with how teachers go about their lessons.

Fantastic experience

I really enjoyed taking part in this course. My mother tongue is English, and still I learnt alot from taking this course. I learnt alot about rules in English that just came naturally for me but I was able to learn the rule behind it. This course looks great on my CV and a lot of jobs to do with Education look for a course like this. I would definetly recommend this course, help was on hand anytime I was unsure!

The Best Diploma/Certificate in Teaching English

I strongly recommend this program. The course material is brilliant and useful. The instructions are straightforward. The tests highlight the most important aspects of teaching English. I am happy that I have found this course, as I study and get a certificate in the comfort of my home. In addition, I can complete the course at my own pace. Of course, there is a time limit of 180 days for the basic course, but it is well enough if you are really interested in getting a certificate and becoming a teacher.

120-hour TEFL/TESOL

The online 120 hour Tesol/TEFL course honestly has been a very insightful one for me. I have learned English as a child and still continue to use English daily. The experience with the course that fascinates me most is the 'how' to teach various aspects of the english language. Though I passed the lesson planning, and of course went through the quizzes with ease, after resubmitting twice, I learned something very important. I had to prepare my lesson plan on the usage of the present continuous tense. The grammartical structure subject+aux verb+ -ing ending is to be included in the plan and in the teaching and learners encouraged to learn to use this structure in the formation of sentences on their own. Writing the plan down actually helps to make sure you teach your lesson thoroughly.

What would you improve about this program?
I think that basically the online programme without tutor support is excellent. The content of each unit is just great providing very relevant cases for teaching and learning english. Probably the webpage could be updated to current year to clear doubts about it been current and relevant for today.

I would definitely recommend this course to my friends

I enjoyed studying this 120-hour TEFL/TESOL course a lot! All the materials were well structured and balanced. Staff support was very responsive, flexible, and helpful. There were 20 units and each of them required passing a test at the end. All students are required to submit a lesson plan at the end of the course and that part was the most challenging part. I am happy that my lesson plan has been accepted on the first attempt! It took me a lot of time and concentration though. But if you get your course with video, and tutor support, and also, if read unit content and requirements carefully - you are going to pass it successfully! I am looking forward to taking the other two courses I signed up for, which are also parts of my Master package: Teaching English to Young Learners and Teaching Business English.

What would you improve about this program?
Videos were very helpful, but I would like to improve the quality of them. The silent moments and squeaky marker moments would be better cut out.

Would definitely recommend

I would recommend this course to a friend. I was extremely happy with this course! I have zero teaching experience and after going through this course I feel confident that I could teach English in a foreign country. I did the 120-hour course with videos, and the videos were especially helpful because they showed how the lesson plan you're reading on paper actually comes to life in a classroom, which put my nerves at ease. I'm now considering doing the ITTT observed teaching practice (OTP) course because I want to go to Vietnam and they really value live in-class demos as part of their hiring process.

What would you improve about this program?
One thing I think could improve is I feel the multiple choice tests at the end of each unit are too easy. Also, it took a few days for course tutors to get back to me with answers to my questions. They should respond the day of.

Nice chance to change my life

As for me it is the best conception - to travel and to earn. I was looking for something like this for a long time. At first I was afraid when got the materials. I desided to try (permission to get my money back consoled me). But everyting went good. I successfully pass all units. There were no problems with it. The main difficulty was with the lesson plan. I did it when it was my last try)). Now I`m trying to pass BE and English to young learners. And I`m looking forward to get a job in Europe.

What would you improve about this program?
At the last stage I sow the tutors were extremally buisy. May be it would be usefull to inkrease number of teachers.

120-hour -Tefl Course

I have just got my certificate after taking part in the 120 - hour Online Tefl Course. I am glad that I have chosen this , it was really worth the price. I struggled with the lesson plan, but with the help of my tutor I managed to do it! I would highly recommend this course to anyone! I am now taking part in the CTBE Course and afterwards my intention is the CTEYL. I got grade A which I am very proud of! I hope to find the perfect job with the help of my TEFL certificate !

What would you improve about this program?
Creating a lesson plan during the course, or showing examples of lesson plans -would be useful.

ITTT 120 hours online TEFL

I just completed my 120 hours TEFL certificate, and I am really happy. I have learned a lot from this course, very interesting and informative. I now have a better understanding of how to teach English to non-native speakers. I completed this course in less than a month, with an overall average of 95.83%. The unit tests were very manageable. The lesson plan was a bit challenging, but I was able to succeed in my first attempt. Thanks to ITTT for the wealth of knowledge I have gained from this course. I now look forward to using what I have learned in teaching English to non-native speakers. I hope to gain employment soon to teach English in China.

What would you improve about this program?
The only improvement I would suggest is to give us more lesson to practice and evaluate before we submit the final lesson, so we can have more confidence in doing the final lesson plan.
